We should have Pope for LAG and Chicago. but not likely for Metrostars

He will be gone july 6th thru July 24th
I am sure there will be practice before the July 6th match

I was thinking it might be a reasonable compromise between recognition of the odious record while still maintaining support to start singing "We Shall Overcome"...plus it's a highly recognizable song that we might get many of the other fans to join in on.

I think that we have come up with a pretty good plan to "celebrate" the record if we get it. I would just suggest one thing though, I think we should keep the cheering positive at the start. Hopefully that will be enough to spur the team on to avoid the record all together. But if they don't, I think we should start chanting "all we are saying" about 5 minutes from record breaking time. Then when it happens we toss our streamers and sit down silent for a minute. Then start cheering wildly again. I would certainly like to do all that we can to help the team avoid the record in the first place. Again, this is just my suggestion. Take it for what it is worth.

Well, this was a fun read.

I think the consensus of the build up to "The Non-Magic Minute", the streamers, and the sit down, followed the same old loyalists, always cheering is great.

And I pray that this is all time wasted :p

I got a new idea... why don't you all go wearing black clothes and during the match you don't cheer, when RSL finally scores you put on the jersey and start cheering again... and in case this doesn't happens (hopefully it will) you'll make sure the team knows the fans are there to support them, but that we REALLY need them to do their thing, Score and WIN!

So, does that mean 34:00 on the clock or 35:00 on the clock? I would guess 34:00 on the clock since that would be the 35th minute, right?
