I am not sure that I totally agree w/ the poll stuffing, but if the admins @ the MLS site aren't smart enough to do the simple things that would help prevent poll stuffing then they kind of deserve it...I mean it isn't that hard to restrict the voting from a single IP to one vote a day or something. I presume that Neil's script didn't do anything more complicated than repeatedly POSTing to the appropriate URL...

Yes I don't dis-agree with you, my point was not about the stuffing of the poll it was about gloating about cheating... no matter how you slice it, it will be seen by the media AND other supporters groups for other teams as cheating...

Here's a thought, and maybe someone has brought it up already. But why didn't any other fans stuff the poll to make their team look better? Anyone could have done it. There's two ways to look at it:

1. RSL fans care enough that they will vote multiple times (and write scripts) to inflate their numbers on polls, other fans don't care enough to do this.

2. RSL has the only unethical fans in MLS.

On the all-star ballot, MLS has encouraged multiple votes, but said they would disqualify votes that are submitted by electronic means. Just for the record, I voted once.

Sure we can change the title but lets be honest by definition we did cheat.

Definition from encarta:

Cheat verb deceive somebody: to deceive or mislead somebody, especially for personal advantage

I think poll stuffing qualifies as deceit for personal (in our case group) advantage.

Who says their fans didn't cheat? It's just a matter of who cheats most and last. I guaranty their fans no how to stuff these polls as well as we do. Probably better, as I think we only have one person who (admittedly) knows how to run these "scripts" to do it. I sure don't.
