Not a chance this reaches scandalous proportions. I think it's just another creative way we have shown our enthusiasm. Just one more reason why I really do beleive we truly do have the best fans in the MLS. Like I mentioned before if the intent of the poll was truly to be accurate they should have also included the now defunct Florida MLS teams. ⚽

Personally, I don't care if they know. If I did I wouldn't have put "Watch this..." right before stuffing the ballot box. I have news for you, I think DC was stuffing the crap out of that box as well, they were just doing it manually. I watched their votes jump up 150+ in about two hours, I assume they were trying to pass us. They did it manually, and poorly, we just automated the process.

So they were gaining on us again, and what did I do...I ran the macro again. That's right, I said it... I did it twice. Next time I'll stuff it and stay quiet if it eases everyone's conscience. I however, perhaps much to the distress of Bardguy:), will NOT be turning in my temple recommend.

I never said that stuffing the the thing was wrong... In fact I repped you forthe "watch this" thing... my original point was that I didn't think it was a good idea to be gloating on the forum about it or contacting the media to say how clever we are...

I can see now that I am in the minority on this so be it... it's all good.
No worries

Personally, I never thought they'd do an article. The fact that they did makes it, I'll be honest, a little funnier to me. Other than the MLSNet article I don't think we should alert the media. It was a prank, and it's done.

Can it truly be that we are worrying about the ethical ramifications of stuffing an internet poll? AN INTERNET POLL!!!!

Great day in the morning Lucinda it's an internet poll.

I agree. We didn't get a prize for this. Nobody died. Just a few hurt feelings from less creative fans than we are. They'll get over it.

We know you cheated, and at least I don't care. Congrats.

Congrats on the win for best fans. Just FYI, DCU has been on to this scheme for a few days (see http://dcunitedblog.blogspot.com/2005/06/meet-bad-boys-of-mls-fandom-real-salt.html) But frankly, I for one, admire the spirit in at least trying. I doubt some LAG or Metros or Rapids fan would even care enough to stuff the box. So good on ya.
