Yes, you said that at the time. I am not speaking of energy as in activity. I am refering to karma, I guess. Not very well it looks like.

What I mean is that if we focus so intently on that ref it will be virtually every minute of the game. That doesn't seem like as much fun to me as cheering our team.

Maybe we should have talked longer about it. Maybe you grant me too much power and we bailed on the situation be we reaching an understanding.

Last fall as things were being put together this is what we came up with:

Our mission is clear, Loyalists RSL Supporters wants enthusiastic soccer fans who will PARTICIPATE at games! We want people who will STAND and SING for the DURATION of the game, show their colors, bring original flags, give our team the home field advantage, and ENERGIZE the rest of the crowd! We want to make these events as fun as possible for everyone! If you feel up to this challenge, then Loyalists RSL Supporters is for you! The goal of Loyalists RSL Supporters is to make soccer games a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Loyalists RSL Supporters does not tolerate hooligan, racist, vulgar, or violent behavior.

This seemed to describe the RCB incredibly well.

Somewhere too many things were assumed, interpreted, and left to fester.

I still hold out hope that we can communicate better.

A while ago, I was in the middle of a bunch of heated emails with some people, going back and forth, and my husband gave me a piece of advice that I thought was very useful:

"Assume positive intent."

If somebody posts asking about why you're starting your own group, assume positive intent, like we honestly want to know what's going on. It's not a big deal.

If somebody wants to start their own supporters group, assume positive intent, like they have something they think they can add to the atmosphere of the games. It's not personal, it's not a big deal. Let them go their own way.

I personally do not have personal problems with anybody involved in this. I have had numerous positive experiences with the Brothers Enger. I genuinely like them as people and as fans of the game. I like the other people who seem to somehow infuriate the Brothers Enger et al as well. I like the leader of the Loyalists. You're all awesome people, and I regret the personal attacks that have been somewhat implied in the tone of some posts.

Good luck to everybody in sorting things out. Brothers Enger et al and ska, don't assume it's YOU vs THE LOYALISTS. You've had a couple bad experiences, but give it a couple weeks and let things clear over and then look at it again. Nothing brings things into focus like a little time. Not to say you shouldn't form your own official group; just take a little break and then look at it again to make sure there aren't any long-standing hard feelings.

And everyone else, it's not a huge huge deal if they want to be secretive. It's stupid to announce things when they're incomplete. It's not a huge sin to want a little privacy. Maybe they haven't handled everything perfectly, but so what?

Can't we all just.. never mind. :D

I understand that not everybody that comes to this forum is a Loyalist but I was wondering if this could be placed prominently or as a sticky so that it could be read by all. If there is ever a question as to why we are here and how we are suposed to show our support of the team, then that person can be directed to the mission statement. If there is someone trying to create an un-family atmosphere, again, mission statement. If the purpose of the group is clearly stated for everybody to see then we should never have the problems we've been having. I understand that common sense is not so common but this really shouldn't be so hard.

I merged the threads.

Just so everyone knows that the first six messages in each thread were identical due to copying thread earlier today. I removed the six duplicates.

You know, now that this issue has been largely resolved, I am going to have to start a new thread just for some excitement.

Okay, give me a better idea. Say a picture of Napoleon Dynamite posing as Jim Curtin?

True, but you can go so many completely hilarious directions with both of them, they are a bit like photos of Lanycakes that way.
