The #1, letter A, first reason that we decided that another supporters group would work is becuase we felt, rightly or wrongly, excluded by the core group of Loyalists. We know that there are people who will not fit with the Loyalists. Take for example the Tatoo guy. We met him after the match on Wednesday and had a nice long chat with him.

He purchased his season tix well before the season started because he knew that was where the supporters group would be sitting.

He has a tattoo of the RSL logo (or crown, I can't remember) on his arm.

He gets brought up on the boards because Ska thinks that he know him or something and immediately people start to tell about their bad experiences sitting next to him. It was unfortunate, but it is just an example or how we have felt, again rightly or wrongly, like we weren't real supporters because we weren't part of the original core group.

I'm not being negative or hostile, I'm just airing this all out in the spirit of getting it out in the open. It's not just about the nursery rhymes, that is just one way how we think that we can improve.

In addition, in case people didn't notice, we are brothers. If it sounds like we have some inside jokes or something like that, we probably do. We aren't trying to exclude anybody from those.

Anyway, I'll be on for a little longer if you have any questions. My brothers and Ska will eventually read this, and may react differently than I have. I feel much calmer now, but they will unavoidably be hot when they read this thread, so please keep this in mind when they post.

We would have brought this out to the open on OUR timetable. We weren't being secretive, we were just planning.

I know it is hindsight, but you could have approached Glenn with your plans and asked for advice?

I don't think it was the tattoo guy that was making people uncomfortable, it was his friend with the potty mouth.

Forums "Censorship" - This can't seriously be considered a RCB vs. Loyalists issue due to the fact that, as far as I know, Glenn has never advocated, or advised any type of censorship on particular members of the Loyalists as an official Loyalist action. What happened with that had less to do with the Loyalists as a group and more to do with individual disagreements.

All I can think of that I have done that may tick people off are:

1- told the drunk guy that started to use profanity that he'd have to go somewhere else if he continued.

2- I said at the half of a game (don't remember which) that I thought all the focus on the ref wasn't a good use of energy. And that I would rather cheer for our team with ONE VOICE. After that game someone approached me and asked if I was mad at them. I think I game the same response, cheer for our team. There are bad, missed calls in everygame. The RAF (speaking of factions) lived through worse than any RSL game.

I have no problem with other groups starting. Most teams have more than one. I feel bad that others have felt oppressed or that The Loyalists have functioning as a socialist or communist group.

Forgive my ignorance, as I am not sure why I would approach Glenn when we decided to form our own group. Why Glenn? My understanding is that he is the president of the loyalists, and does not work for the FO. If I'm mistaken, feel free to correct me. I contaced the FO last week and asked for their input.

He could have told you some of the stuff we went through trying to get it going.

Something like, Hey Glenn we want to start another group next year, but want to cheer along with you guys until we do. Any suggestions?

I know hindsight.

It's unfortunate that this couldn't have been redeemed. I'm not sure who you consider "core", but I can appreciate your feeling of being "put-out" by certain prominent members. However, I would imagine that just as many "core" members don't necessarily share the same feeling, and certainly not the group as a whole. Therefore, this shouldn't continue to be a reason for a split.

The fact that certain people don't want to ascribe to a family friendly atmosphere while supporting their team, I guess, is a valid reason for not wanting to be a part of the Loyalists. If you must swear or be raunchy, etc., then perhaps a different group IS a better idea. Although, having such a group sit right next to the "family friendly" group probably defeats the purpose of both groups. Due to the fact that it would be very difficult, if not impossible for one or the other of the groups to relocate their season tix mid-season, we'll likely need to meet and discuss a coherent plan in supporting RSL TOGETHER, at least for this season - even if under diffferent names. And that would be the responsibility of Glenn and whoever the leader of RCB is.

My two cents.

Thank you for your input. As you and others have probably seen, however, the brothers and I have more than enough energy to throw some love towards the ref. :king:

The thing that I am trying to say is that this could have been done without disparging forum posts or any hostility between the two groups.

The other thing you have to understand is that about the time you and your brothers really got there in full force, we lost one of our major voices to his fiancee in a different section. Do you remember Aurelius, may he rest in peace?
He was a major part of our energy and it took us a game or two to get used to not having him on the drum line.

I am glad you contacted the front office, you could have let us know without making it look like some sort of secret society.

I have a small request geared to those who do have not had the advantage of taking all morning long to continue this thread.

Clearly some of us have been able to have a somewhat heated yet productive conversation. Please keep in mind that in the next couple of days there will be many people who are viewing this thread and do not have the advantage of reading and responding to this over a couple of hours. As you are reading this specific post, will those responding after please refrain from being immature, as it will not be productive at all and will not serve any purpose at all.

Thanks.
