That is interesting, if not a little concerning. It sounds like they do have creative differences with the Loyalists - which is fine, I suppose, however the problematic part (at least potentially) is the lack of unity in chants and songs that is likely to occur at this point. On principle, anyone should be allowed to chant anything at anytime, anywhere in the stadium. But there are, from my perspective, two issues with this:

1- The goal of bringing in the majority of the crowd on certain chants/songs would be little more than a pipe dream with two or more supporters groups divided on the chants and songs to participate in. If we scrub this goal (sadly), we still have a second potential issue:

2- With two such supporters groups sitting next to each other at the game and having disagreements on chants - and neither willing to be silenced whilst the other carry out their chants, the whole section will sound horrible, and not even the players are likely to understand what either group is saying.

If this is indeed their direction, it's a sad, sad day for RSL, it's fans and the Loyalists. 😢

I also don't know why you deny that you have something against the Loyalists, when it is abundantly clear from your mission statement and from the posts on your forum that you consider the Loyalists "the socialists." Your recruitment slogan is "feel down-trodden by other supporters groups?" ..what could that mean? And the myriad mentions of being against "nursery rhymes and primary songs" makes me wonder how you can deny having something against the Loyalists. I personally don't like some of the nursery rhyme chants either, but I compromise a bit for the group.

Oh, for those of you confused - go here

RCB's site

you can get to their forums from there too.

the forums

Oh, there's no doubt what we have here. We've got our version of the "Riot Squad."

If some RSL supporters want to start their own group, that's great. I encourage it, since multiple supporters groups are a sign of a strong fan base.

However, it also reflects the ongoing competition around MLS between those who want a "family" atmosphere and those who want an "ultras" atmosphere. The mission statement of this new group makes it clear where they stand. I would hope that there is room for both types of groups, but there can be little compatibility if they want to be more on the edge. They need to go their own way.

So rather than do the secrecy/clubhouse password method, I suggest they declare themselves and get it overwith.

So, to the "Rogue Cavaliers": break out on your own. Thanks for the support for the club.

Even so, I recommend you don't define yourselves by what you're not. Don't burn bridges. It's all about supporting RSL, which the Loyalists have been doing since before there was an RSL.

I was told not to bring this out into the open because of this hostile environment that it would have caused. But, because people are talking, here you go. Tfe original PM by Deuce:

There have been several complaints and many people are expressing concern over the atmosphere that is being created by the constant negatively toned posts, personal attacks and general childishness.

This forum is for Loyalists and NON-Loyalists alike, and I am sorry if you feel a dispute with Glenn and/or Neil should somehow carry over.

I generally invite and encourage dissent as long as it is constructive and logical. People are entitled to their own opinions and are encouraged to voice them.

It becomes an entirely different situation when you carry on the way the four of you have this past two weeks.

I think you will find that no one will fault you for realizing that this forum does not fulfill your needs as an RSL supporter.

I feel in the best interest of the forum that I now invite the four of you to voluntarily stop posting here.

I am sorry that this forum could not serve you as it has served so many others as a tool for discussing all things Real Salt Lake.

Thanks,
Eric

Here is the deal.
I am PM'ing the four of you as a group because I am not going to continue to answer individually

Over the past two weeks I have recieved 12 complaints that named all four of you (or a combination of the four) for the atmosphere that has, in the eyes of those members, become, and I quote, "hostile", "scary", "childish", "confrontational", "unpleasant" and "stupid"

All of those members asked me to address the issues with you. I am doing that now.

I am not doing this in the public forum to avoid creating a circus atmosphere and further harming the forum as a whole.

I believe that the 5 of us as grown up, mature men can sort it out. Then we can put it behind us and move on.

I am not sharing your responses with anyone because I can handle it myself.

I am not going to continue to argue about it, for the simple fact that I have shared with you why I am writing to you. I have offered the resolution. It is your call whether or not you choose to accept it.

It is simple really... I am the only one that needs to recieve your assurances. I have already assured the concerned members that I will do what is necessary.

That is really all that needs to be said.

I would also like to suggest that you and the people you are sharing my pms with before responding (I assume Neil, SoccerPrime, and Loyal1) come up with a clear policy on these sorts of matters. What, exactly, are offending behaviors, and what are the consequences? Will they be applied fairly across the board without regard to the person's standing in the loyalists hierarchy?

To me and the people I am talking about this with (the brothers Enger and others) it looks like that this is an instance of the Loyalist hierarchy acting out on a grudge. I think that this has the potential for long term harm to the Loyalists. I don't want that, and you don't want that...but this looks really, really bad.

If you want to understand me i will be more clear.
I have no personal issue with you.
I have asked you to stop posting voluntarily.
What I mean by 'forced to act accordingly' is that if you continue to post on this forum without first addressing the issues that I have brought to your attention then i will be forced to ban you.
That is something I sincerely wish to avoid.

I have given you the opportunity to address the issues. It is your decision now.

This is not personal. I have no personal issue with any of you. In fact I have met most of you and happen to admire your attitudes at the matches.

I am merely doing my duty as a moderator and expressing to you the concerns of several members of the forum that have named the four of you as the root cause of their complaints.

This can be all be handled with an assurance from you that the offending behaviour will cease immediately.
Then no one in the public forum is any wiser.
If it is made public then my hands are tied and I will be forced to act accordingly.

Neil is the administrator and Soccerprime is a mod so I am more than certain if they had a complaint they would bring that to your attention.

I won't ask you who they are, but I really have to doubt that it is anyone beside Neil and SoccerPrime. And why would anyone think I have something against Glenn? That is just odd.

Again, I encourage you to take this to the forum publicly and give everyone a say in this. I think that is the only fair thing to do.

Boy, that was a nice deflection. Way to try and turn the whole thing around. Wouldn't it just be easier to admit what you have been up to rather than trying to hide everything and make everyone else look like the bad guys. Why can't we just get this cleared up and move on instead? But it doesn't look like you guys want that at all. Your goal is clearly to stir up as much **** as you possibly can. I think that people have seen enough of how you guys operate to see right through stuff like that. Nice attempt at a cheap shot low blow. It won't work.
