Atmospheric Conditions on Day One

Please list all your ideas about how to create good atmosphere for the games.

Don't expand on your ideas too much, just state them and explain where necessary.

Please don't post a lot of follow-ups to people's ideas unless you're posting a new idea related to another one.

We need to decide as a group (at our next Loyalists meeting) where to FOCUS our efforts, instead of having one or two people each doing a hundred different things. Lots of people doing the SAME thing will stand out at the game. So let's get a bunch of ideas, then vote on which one to start out with! We don't have infinite money or time or resources.

I'll start with the obvious ideas:

* Chants that everybody can become familiar with quickly

* Everybody wearing the same color (CHOOSE which!)

* Standing and cheering LOUDLY during the whole game

Okay, there are some ideas independent of monetary concerns, things we can expand on LATER in a different thread. 😉

Ok here are the ones from our chat

-ballons

-city/state flags

-tv/media coverage

I liked the idea someone came up with about having a giant banner that as we pull it back balloons are let loose. That sounds pretty good.

Notice how one of our two sections is alittle smaller than the other. We could use the smaller section for the balloons at the beginning of the game and then once thats done move over and fill in the lower part of the section.

Didn't think this deserved its own thread:

Will the Loyalsts Section(s) have signs indicating it will be a standing/cheering/singing/noisy section like in NE and CHI? I think it is probably a good idea to have signs up, mentioning that people are free to move to another section if they want to sit down, and that people who want to participate are welcome to the section, etc..

How about bagpipes? There's nothing like the pipes to get the blood pumping and we'd be a first in MLS.

Definitely! I love the sound of bagpipes (Irish/Scottish heritage :D )

My Irish/Scottish blood craves the sound of the pipes. The plastic horn wail I think appeals more to the.... um... Bhutanian in all of us?
