I hope it works out!
That makes me feel much better. I just love knowing that we are making you jealous, Prime.

It becomes even worse when I have a few people around me that I already know. I tend to stay in my comfort zone. I apologize if that comes across as stand-offish.

I usually have to force myself to talk to people that I don't know. I just want to let everyone know that if I'm ever sitting at a table with empty seats, feel free to come over and sit down with me no matter who you are.

And don't be afraid to say hello and I'll try and be better at doing the same. I'm usually lucky because my wife is very outgoing and takes care of that for me. When she isn't around, I struggle with it a lot more.

Aero's wife is very good at that game.

Yes, yes, and yes. Remember that even if we get 40 people to this meeting, that's still only like 20% of the total Loyalist Membership. A lot of people are just not going to be able to come. So, in the spirit of not coming off as, say, "uninviting elitists", I would suggest involving ALL of the Loyalists to share input as much as possible. This would ideally include:

1) Notification of the meeting to all Loyalists via e-mail
2) Ask for input or ideas to discuss and/or items to be added to the agenda prior to the meeting, via e-mail
3) Agenda and Meeting Notes sent via e-mail

etcetera. Then ask for nominations/etc. via e-mail so that people that didn't happen to be there, or who don't feel like they're part of the "core group", don't come away feeling like the Loyalist head clique just got together and appointed their friends to positions of power, à la U.S. Government.

I think this is a perfect opportunity to begin to overcome some of those "Section 37-esque" concerns.

Another opinion that I have, and I'm not sure how we are planning that the committees will work, is that when a Loyalist signs up, they should be presented with the organizational hierarchy of the Loyalists, including a listing of committees, and then should be asked which committee they would like to be a part of. Or something to that effect. People will feel a lot less excluded if they are immediately included. In theory.

bordy will now shut up.

Just so everyone knows, I have sent emails/PMs to Glenn, Steve and Dave to make sure they are aware of your concerns and asked them to make sure to make the "meeting" tomorrow at Iggy's.
Keep on trucking.
