Getting to the game

I've been a fan of RSL from the inception, even though I am currently in metrostars territory, but will be moving to provo to attend BYU within the next week and a half and have every intention of becoming a loyalist and attending each game. The only problem being I will not have a car, at least for my first semester. What is the best way to get from provo to the games? I'm used to a robust public transportation system here in jersey but im not sure if that is a possibility out there.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Will

Well, I'm sure our Utah County chapter can help you better, I'm north of Salt Lake here in Ogden.

But check out, www.rideuta.com

Once you get to Sandy or anywhere north of Sandy then you can easily get on to TRAX which will eventually drop you off literally within steps of where we do our tailgates.

Robust is not a way I would describe the transit system here in Utah.

Utah is not a thriving Megolopolis like the Washington DC to Boston, Mass. Corridor. It is not now and I hope it never does become that big.

However, If the plans that are on the drawing boards for our public transit ever come to fruition, we will have a great system... still not robust but adequate for a growing western "hick-opolis"!

Anyway I am sure that you will find many opportunities to carpool and ride-share from the ever helpful UC contingent!

I think that would be your best bet, but I do know that UTA does have a bus that goes into provo and then brings people back up to the last Sandy TRAX stop.

And now a word from the awesome Southern Division: I live in Spanish Fork (just south of Provo) and several members of this division live in Provo and Orem. Let us know when you get into the area and I'm sure we can arrange for transportation. I go to every home game (at least so far), so I can take you. And others would probably be willing as well. I don't believe you will have any problem getting to games. Other events are more problematical and will need to be handled individually. πŸ•Ί

That is great news, i would really appreciate rides as the more i researched the UTA system, the more confusing it has become. I'm glad to see that the loyalist crowd is so friendly and helpful, even to a newcomer (something not seen to often on the east coast) I found out i wont be in provo until the end of august, so it will just be the last few games ill need a little help for. But starting the 28th of july ill be in the brigham city area with family and plan to borrow a car to get to each game, and hopefully to all the viewing parties at iggy's too.

thanks for the info and willingness to help

Welcome bigwilly. We'll be glad to see you. You should officially introduce yourself in the "Intoductions" thread.

Getting to games on UTA from Provo shouldn't be too hard. Getting back home might be.

My car is usually full with family but if you post here in advance arrangements can be made with people from the UC.

Or you could just transfer schools and go to the U and you would never have to worry πŸ˜‰
