Well that means I won't be at their first game! 🙁

I was hoping it would be in the west so I could get to it.
Oh well...
any word whether the RSL v Metrostars will be on TV?
Or is just going to be seedy cheetos and DC on the tube?

I bet it'll be televised. There would be a public outcry if it wasn't! Even people who aren't SLC supporters want to see SLC get beaten because they're the new team and want to see how they measure up.

Well the Metro/RSL match will definetly be on MSGTV (local New York metro network) but I doubt it will be on Fox Sports or ESPN. Maybe SportsWest will broadcast from Meadowlands or maybe some Utah channel can broadcast the MSGTV feed.
I believe the Chivas/United match is the Soccer Saturday game on either ESPN2 or maybe ABC (I think ABC shows the first MLS match of the season, all-star and the final).

RSL schedule
When will we know the rest of the season’s schedule? I assume that if the first-day matches are in place that others are shaping up as well…

According to the few articles on the 2005 MLS schedule, MLS is supposed to roll out the schedule the second week of January.

Checketts and MSGTV
Doesn't Checketts have an established relationship with MSGTV through his time at Madison Square Gardens? I would think that this means a negotiation for local broadcast of the MSGTV feed is possible.

Damn my luck in moving to St. Louis a month after Salt Lake gets an MLS team. There's no hope of me seeing the game here. (shakes fist in air)

Thats not entirely true. If you bought the MLS Direct Kick, you could watch it anywhere.

According to the LA Times, RSL's 2nd match will be against the Galaxy in LA on April 9th.
