Ouch. Folks, for the best supporters group in MLS, we're doing close to the worst.

Did we ever make people aware of the ticket sale via the newsletter? I must admit, though, it's more difficult to sell tickets you don't actually have yet. "Give me your money today, and then come to the game and meet us at the game to pick up your tickets" isn't nearly as convenient as buying them over the phone or on the internet and then having them mailed to you or placed at Will Call.
Question: What time, exactly, will we have the tickets? If it's early enough, like 1:30, those of us that sold tickets that show up for the tailgate, could pick them up, and put them at Will Call for those we sold them to. If we were to know that we could do that in advance, it might make selling some of these tickets easier. I'm seriously considering copying a bunch of fliers and passing them out at a supermarket or something - this is REALLY embarrassing! __________________

Additionally, I think it would have helped our cause to have something more organized to sell tickets than what we have (hindsight is 20/20). The willy nilly approach didn't work...again...
I was under the impression that we were rockin' this, but found out on Monday that we were FAR from selling enough tickets. By then, time was already getting too short for any sort of concerted effort. I may have to try printing a bunch of the modified fliers I made and handing them out at a grocery store. Problem is that I have VERY limited time to do this for any significant amount of time today and tomorrow. I may be able to spend more time on Friday, but by then it may be too late... I seem to remember a challenge going out for all Loyalists to sell 10 tickets or something. Was that in a newsletter? If so, I wonder why we didn't sell them all. With 750 tickets, all we would need would be for 75 of the Loyalists to sell 10 tickets each. Some of us have exceeded 10 tickets, so that would mean only about 70 would have to sell 10 tickets. Don't we have like 200 members?!?!? Even if we take out the "less-actives", I can't imagine that leaves us with less than 70 people. Very discouraging... 🙁 __________________ Real Salt Lake! I propose that we send out an email by tomorrow to every email address we have. We will ask people to buy/sell tickets for the Aug.6 game.
If you have anything in particular that should be said in that email, please PM/email your ideas by tonight. The email will go out tomorrow morning. | |||||
