Hey

I've been posting at BS for a couple of months now, not realizing that this place is "where it's at!" Um... I grew up in the DC area, and my team loyalties are still back east (Skins, O's, and until this season even DCU). I've been in the Salt Lake Valley for the past 5 or so years and my roots are in this state. It's been awhile since I've actually played soccer, but I've tried to follow the league for as long as it's been around. Saw my first real soccer match in Korea during the '88 Seoul Olympics. I was pretty young. I remember West Germany was playing, but I don't remember anything else. My next shot was the WCQ at RES - and that was great. I've since been able to make it to a couple of games - not as many as I'd like - but I try to tune in to the radio if I'm not able to be there in person (and I just got DSL, so I'm excited to be able to see more games!). The first season has been thrilling - if somewhat of a mixed bag - and I'm excited for the future of MLS in Salt Lake!

Welcome Oussan! If you would like to meet a lot of us face to face (i know, that can be scary) come to the Loyalist's tailgate before the home games!
Lots of food and :wine: and of course, soccer fans! ⚽

Yes, welcome. The tailgates are a good time, and a much less expensive alternative to concessions.

a french MLS and RSL fan

Hi from France 🙂

I'm Herve 36 yrs old.I'm a footbal fan ( sorry soccer fan )
My prefer team in France is Olympique de Marseille ( OM ) 🕺
I fellow MLS on the net, and my prefers team are is the east : Metrostars, Chicago fire, and on the west : Real Salt Lake
I'm happy to be able to talk with americans soccer fans. I think here, in france MLS is not really knows ... Some people discovered it with the coming of Djorkaeff in NY/NJ Metro's... And i discovered it on the video game FIFA...
Do you know if RSL is in the new game FIFA 06??? I've ever saw some preview pics with a match beetween DC united and LA Galaxy, so MLS is here !!! I would like with this game become champion with RLS !!!

I think the team need to improve for next year go to the playoff, and i hope they 'll be able to become conference champions at least 🙂
thanks a lot for this forum
i'll come here soon :signluvpl

see you soon
greetings from France
Pharaon

Bonjour Herve! We'll enjoy your international perspective. Do you live on the coast there? My husband went on a trip to the French Riviera a few years ago (near Marseilles) and it sounded beautiful. I hope to visit someday!

Well, i was born in Marseilles, but now i'm living at 120 km at the north of Bordeaux. But sure, Marseilles and mediterranean coast in France is so beautiful, and i wish you to go there one day !!! really !!!
i like RSL because this team is new, and i think better than CHivas USA ( it's just my opinion, i repsct this team too, but it's just for mexican people ...) And i remenber RSL stadium as the nice jewel of the last winter olympics... I discovered Utah by my television at this time, and your olympics were fabulous !!! so Salt Lake is well know now, and i enjoyed your city. and i love montains too ...
and i also think RSL is a most popular team than The Rapids of Colorado... people fellow the birth of this great club ...
And you bring nice colors !!!!
I Like MLS because it's different from championships in europe... here there's no conferences, no playoff ( but league cup and frech cup ) It's an NBA championship with soccer 🙂
And i'm in admiration with players to play soccer with the NFL lines paint on the field !!!!! it's so difficult to see the yellow soccer line on the net !!! and i try to understand how the player do ans are not distrubing by these lane ...
and i jealous too to see nearly 80.000 people in the stadium to see a football college match, and just 10.000 for the MLS...
do you think MLS popular in the united states?
well, i hope RSL will continue to play and improve.
Please continue to support them ! they need you !!! and next year i think they can get the playoff !!!! it a good team they are not ridicuous. they deserve their place in MLS , and luckydy they have no to get donw in inferior division !!!
have a nice day
greeting from france
Bonne soirée à tous
gros bisous de France
Allez Réal !!!!!
Merci beaucoup
Hervé
