My name's Steve. This is officially my second post in any soccer-related forum ever. Let's see if y'all can't make an addict out of me yet. I am between semesters at that big red communist school up on the hill, yet I reside in the UC (pardon the pseudo-soap mocking vernacular), where I work hard(ly) at an internet coaching job.

I love sport in general and am thrilled that SLC is getting another real life professional team. I'm even more thrilled that said team is of either the Soccer or Baseball persuasion. I say let's see if we can't get that other sort out here as well in a few years (curses DC for taking the Expos). I'm an excited member of the Loyalists and hope to create all types of ruckus at the games and meet other reprobatical, crazy fans.

Peace, please!

Hi Steve (is your last name Pastorino? :>). I am not familiar with Soviet style schools in Utah, could you elaborate? In any case, welcome to the group. Now go post in the other threads, young man!

Fan in the Cold North

I'm Jake,

I am currently living in the freezing North known as Logan, finishing my CEE degree at Utah State. I am married to Janet. I have played soccer almost all my life and have been a fan since I was little. I love Argentine soccer and am a big fan of Batistuta (not Maradona). In the past I have always liked the Metrostars because of Tab Ramos, and now Eddie Gaven, but now I'm sure I will be a die hard RSL fan. I think Kreis is awesome and can't wait for the season to start.

Hopefully mckid and I can get more fans involved up here in Logan.

Welcome to the boards Jake. Batistuta was my favorite player when he played for Roma, I got to see him play live a few times, it was great. Anyway welcome

Welcome to the new guys.

I'd like to remind everyone to formally join The Loyalists.

Go here to use paypal to pay the $15 dues. The email you send the money to is
It's fun; it's easy.

With all the discussion about scarves, flags, and mayhem we are about ready to decide on "official Loyalist stuff". Ensure you have a vote by becoming a dues paying member.

Members will receive some of the oLs (official Loyalists stuff) as part of their dues. Loyalists also get a great rate on season tickets in our section.

Hi all...

Sorry it took me a while to get here (StucknUtah on BS). My name is Scot and I came by my soccer fanaticism genetically, as my parents and my siblings and I have all spent the majority of our lives involved with soccer (playing, coaching, refereeing, etc). To figure out how long that may be, my folks had season tickets to the NASL Sounders beginning in the Memorial Stadium days, and I vividly recall listening to Sounders games at home (when I did not attend) while watching Charlie's Angels on Saturdays.

After finishing college and spending 9 years as a soccer-bum (coaching, playing, and running a soccer store) I got married and decided that while being a soccer-bum was fun, it didn't pay the bills; so I went to the dark side and now get to sit in my office 10hrs a day. My stay at home, ex-attorney wife and I have 3 kids (girl almost 5, boy 3, girl 10mo) and are working to find babysitting help so we can attend as many games as possible.

Viva ReAl!

Hello from Meridian, Idaho

Hello everyone!

My name is Terry, and I currently live in Meridian, Idaho (near Boise). I have been a long time San Jose Earthquakes fan (going back to my early soccer years in the Bay area), but after taking the 6 RSL discussions, I have committed to convert, and become an official fan of Real Salt Lake! :D My wife and 3 children (boys - 6 yrs. and 3 yrs., girl - 16 mos.) have not felt the excitement that I have, and have not yet committed themselves to RSL. However, I am sure that after I bring them along to some of the RSL activities, and after they have regular visits with some of the other RSL fans, they will realize that RSL is the true team, and will surely want to partake of the wonderous joy that comes with being a diehard RSL fan. </removes tongue from cheek>

See you on the pitch!
