I've only heard ads for the Skybox at the matches, so I'm curious as to what the arrangement is.
I would assume so. You probably have to in order to get a press release with your name on it at www.realsaltlake.com. Of course, that's an assumption. I could be wrong....

...but I doubt it. 😉

I have to piggyback on Nessie's comments.

I think Aerick has some well thought out and detailed explanation of why we should support Lumpy's.

However I think its all based on the assumption that RSL and Lumpy's has some kind of finiancial arrangement. They might very well have one, but for now its just a theory.
I personally feel like it would be bad form to "dump" Iggy's for Lumpy's unless we know for sure its really going to help the team. Iggy's has treated the fans well, when others did not.

Make sense?

In the beginning, my hubby Aero and Deuce had a hard time finding a place to watch the away games at... many restaurants/sports pubs didn't want a "supporters group" each week. Iggy's downtown stepped up and gave the LOYALISTS a chance and they have been great to us! I support Iggy's also because it isn't a private club and people under the age of 21 can come and watch... yes, parents can bring their kids with them and that is great! Another thing I like is that Iggy's is a restaurant, not a private club where you have to pay a membership fee then on top of that a cover charge every time you go. I have nothing against Lumpy's, I have never been, but for tonight's game I will be at Iggy's because they supported the Loyalists when no one else would. Their staff has always been great and we get our own room, woohoo!

Iggy's was the only establishment to offer us space for the opener which was final four weekend. Lumpy's made an offer to the FO shortly into the season, but we had already established a relationship with Iggy's. Lumpy's can't be the official watch party establishment of a family friendly supporters group for the reasons that Holly outlined. Lumpy's works much better for fans that want to get drunk before the game, because they provide a shuttle to the stadium and then back. That doesn't really meet the needs of the Loyalists, as I understand it.

No one is "dumping Iggy's"

Iggy's is the Loyalists Away Match Headquarters.

The way I see it... but you are welcome to see however you like...

The way I see it is Iggy's has earned our business week in and week out.

Lumpy's is the new kid on the block and "wants" to become the away game headquarters of all the supporters groups.
"Want" does not always translate to "IS"

Lumpys has two major shortcomings...
1) Private Club, meaning they are excluding a huge section of the RSL fan base. They are NOT family friendly and from what I understannd allow smoking.
2) Have not earned our business as stated so many times... Iggy's has.

I have pointed out these shortcomings to the FO and they are considering them. It does not mean that it will make a difference but at least they now know that the Loyalists, at least, expect this from our " Watch party headquarters"

We did not support SkyBox and SkyBox was more like Iggy's in that it is restaurant and allows familys but does not allow smoking.
SkyBox was more like a business that expected you to pay homage to it for providing service to you. Where Iggy's bend over backwards for there customers.
It is easy to see where the Loyalists belong.

I do not know all of the circumstances behind the reason the FO will not look at Iggy's as a partner... but I do know enough to know that with proper communication instead of relying on hearsay that Iggy's and the FO are not that far apart in there goals.

It remains to be seen what will happen... but I know where my backside will be parked come kick-off and I hope to see alot of you there as well...

Thanks Iggy's for your support... I look forward to many seasons of business...

Also, please remember that Iggy's stepped up and spent $$$ to get the DirectKick package. 🙇

Thats true.
Rep also to what Stucki, Deuce and Holly have said.
Iggy's, by purchasing the DK for the watch parties, made a $$$ committment to the fans.
We should respect that.
Well...just as long as no one orders chicken fingers tonight.
Right?
👍

FYI. While I'm all in favor of supporting businesses that sponsor RSL, in the case of Lumpy's being an "over-21" club, whenever my family wants to come with me to away parties, we will de-facto be at Iggy's, and that will occur 90% of the time. That goes along with what Deuce is saying, in that the Loyalists are a family-friendly group, and so Iggy's makes more sense, for the most part, as an official Loyalist away party place. However, that 10% of the time, I'll likely be up at Lumpy's just so I can contribute a few dollars to a business that cares enough to do business with my beloved RSL. 🙂

$69.00? You call $69.00 stepping up? 🙅

That sucks about Lumpy's being 21+. That's retarded. What the hell. Yes, that was a statement, not a question 🙂
