Galaxy v. RSL in Carson, CA

An initial check... this is what I found without really digging.
If anyone is interested in arranging a road trip or a fly in, let me know and I will do some more serious digging!

FLY?
Flight, hotel and rental car for 2 nights (leaving Friday evening and Returning Sunday afternoon) starting @ $327 pp*

DRIVE?
689.8 miles One Way (West Jordan to the Home Depot Center)
10.5 hours driving time.
Hotels ??? per night

*Does not include ticket to match!

The last time I checked, Jet Blue had the best rates from SLC to Long Beach. But they only have one flight per day.

Southwest also has good rates.

Carson & Long Beach have some industrial/commercial areas with hotels that aren't that popular on weekends. But on the other hand, if that's the weekend of the Long Beach Grand Prix, you're hosed.

Unfortunately, you need a car to get to Victoria Street.

Rodney the Galaxian may have a few good hints.

Disneyland

What about Disneyland packages? Prices may be better to Anahiem than Long Beach, but a longer drive. But the family might "justify" the cost.

Just a thought, but I flew from Orlando to San Diego for so much less than LAX that I was able to rent a car for over a week and it was still cheaper overall.
We flew Southwest.

Whenever I lose my mind and decide to drive to LA or San Diego(Where the Mrs and I were sealed.) I stop in Prim and stay at Whiskey Pete's, it's just past Vegas and it's cheap. Then on the way back I stay in Mesquite, also cheap. But if you leave early and more than one person drives, than 10.5 hours is nothing and you won't need to stop.

I checked that and it is pretty cheap so I will have to do more research on the hotels and rental car!
If I can't sort out a road trip then I will definitely get a flight from Southwest or Jet Blue!

I have driven to San Diego on my own before with no problem... and no stopping (Not overnight anyway)... It was a bit of a haul but it would definitely have been easier sharing the drive.
Still searching for people to ride along!!! 🙂

Is anyone familiar with the Westminster/Seal Beach Area of Long Beach?

Is it an ok area?
Anything I should know before I book a room near the Naval Weapons Station there?

Motel 6 is $45.99 a night... half the price of the Long Beach/Carson Area(just a few miles away) that is why I ask if it is Ok area...

Hey everyone... I am trying to find out if anyone is even remotely interested in driving or flying down to this match?

I ask because the Long Beach Grand Prix is the same weekend and I want to get something reserved or booked by the end of next week.

If anyone else is seriously interested... let's talk about it!
If no one is interested I am going to get things sorted for myself!

So now is the time to speak up!

That area should be OK. Tiger Woods grew up near there, so it can't be all bad.

If that Motel 6 is where I think it is, it's a farther from the freeway than some others; so leave yourself plenty of time to make it into Victoria Street's outrageously-priced parking lot.
