Video Game Thread

I recently purchased two new games; NCAA '06 for the X-Box and Battlefield2 for the PC. I don't really get much time to play these, about the only times I can play are when everyone in the house is asleep or when the wife decides to take the kids to the grandparen'ts house.

I started a dynasty for the U of U and customized my schedule so that I had the Florida Gators and the Tennesee Volunteers on my schedule. I had it on the next to easiest mode and barely beat Florida. I like how the stadium noise can affect how you play. My freshman running back is already in contention for the Heisman (he's the front runner).

I haven't played Battlefield2 as much, but I like the command mode where you can control what happens on the battlefield and call in artillery strikes.

If anyone else has played these or other good video games, lets get a discussion going here.

i just rented ncaa last night and started a dynasty with BYU. Ive enjoyed the game so far, not too different from 2005 which i own. However most of my time is devoted to FIFA which i have been addicted to for a while. CAnt wait for 2006 to come out so i can play with RSL. I most play wiht Swansea from league 1, even though in the game they are league 2 since they just got promoted.

Anyone else as addicted to fifa like i am? or winning 11?

actually Pro Evolution Soccer 5 just came out for PS2. its the same thing as WE. i did some graphic work for the MLS patch for WE8 and the same guy who put together that patch is doing an MLS patch with USL too for the PS2 PES5!!!

great game. hands down better than fifa.

i play 4-5 games on fifa EVERY NIGHT! It's so frikkin addicting. I am playing in my third year as Celtic. I did play 3 years as LA too, but got moved up to celtic. i too am pumped for Nov to get 06 and play as real

I had been playing a lot of FIFA '05 too. Right now I'm coaching Fulham. I've got a few RSL players on my team like Mathis and Countess. I think I'm in my 5th year as a coach now and Kreis and Pope have retired. It will be fun to play as RSL when '06 comes out. I've written to EA Sports about it but haven't received a reply.

Hiddnfox, I don't know too much about Winning 11. I understand that there's a patch that allows you to play as RSL. One thing I do like about FIFA '05 is that there are so many different leagues and players. I would like to be able to customize teams a little better, you can only trade players in dynasty mode and you can only use created players in friendlies or created tournaments. If I could have put my own team together I think I could have got almost everyone on RSL except for Watson, Tiger, Akwari, and Selowane. Then again, maybe they're in there and I just haven't seen them. I also don't like that Kasey Keller is the backup goal keeper for the USMNT, what's up with that?

There's this 1 star team out of Portugal that I play as sometimes (I can't remember their name) just to see if I can knock off the big boys like AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Man U. Even if you're playing on novice this is quite challenging.

Just in case anyone is interested or didn't already know, FIFA '06 is scheduled for release November. 🙂

Just to let you know, Selolwane is on the Chicago Fire (reserves). Akwari on the Colombus Crew. Too bad Selolwane is gone from RSL now.....

I knew about Selowane, that happened after I wrote that. I didn't know about Akwari however. I saw Akwari at practice on 8/12, so I had no idea he'd been traded.

Are you thinking that Akwari ahd been trade to the Columbus Crew? This is on the game. Maybe I just didn't understand.
