btw, JohnD, did you used to post on the old Blitzz boards? You sound really familiar.
If only he were JohnP, I'd bet on him being our old Blitzz buddy who spouted clever phrases which were completely incomprehensible to me. But, anyway, there's No Parkin here.

This is reminiscent of the day before the name RSL was announced: "Hey guys, I have a good source that the name will be Real Salt Lake. That's all I can say but I can promise 100% that it's true." And, of course, he was right.

However, I'll wait until this has firmer footing before calling it the gospel truth.

I'd heard a rumor that DJ was either ill or injured a while back. That could contribute to something like this, righto?

I guess I have mixed feelings about this. I think that DJ has been struggling terribly coming off his line to get the ball. He is a tremendous shot blocker, but his confidence coming off his line has seemed to hit an all time low the last few games. I partially blame him for the third KC goal where he came off his line and caused defenders to move out of the way and then whiffed. And then there is of course the NE incident which is unfortunate, but just showed a lack of concentration. Of course the seemingly porous defense doesn't help, but DJ just hasn't seemed sharp lately. I was really impressed w/ Jay in the LA game that he started. If he can come in and play like that again and play well consistently I think he may just end up with the starting job. I think the fact that DJ is working through injuries may have contributed to some of his poor play. It would be nice to give him a bit of rest (the reserves don't seem to play as many games) and see how he plays when he is healthy again. That is just my opinion. Go Jay!

It would be nice to know the source of the information...

Since we don't have a source...
since this was the individuals first post...
since we haven't heard anything from the FO/Press...

I'm going to guess this is going to happen.

BTW... it's a sharp way to start a discussion. This is the most content filled thread of the day I think. Bubbles aside. =)

The front office put out its game notes and has Countess listed as the starter... but we will see. It wouldn't be the first time the game notes have been wrong.

If he were JohnE then he might also be taken more seriously.

Are you crazy kids implying that we might have a troll on our hands?

That would be totally unprecedented... 🙄

Nolly did appear to be on the starting team during the scrimmage yesterday, but after that performance, who knows?

I think Jay Nolly deserves the chance to prove himself, he played great against the Galaxy when DJ countess was hurt. Yes, DJ has played some great games but he is a little inconsistant, he will have a great game and then a ok game and then a bad game and then a great game. Lets see how Jay Nolly does in another MLS game, everybody should get a chance to prove themselves. Plus hasn't DJ been beat up on this season, if so it will give him a little time to heal up and come back at 100% and have more consistant games.

It looks like JohnD may be closer to JohnE than many of us thought at first because it does appear as if Nolly will start tomorrow. At least based on what I saw and heard at practice today which could all change by tomorrow night.

How did practice go today?
