Well I just got off the phone with the FO
Officially the event is not open to the public because the Hard Rock is a small venue.

BUT I have been told that we will not be turned away if there is room inside!

to be completely honest with you... the hard rock could not possibly be smaller than airwaves, (where they announced Jason Kreis) now that was tiny!
Airwaves capacity was by no means taxed either!

It really is up to you whether or not to make the trip down but I for one am going to take the chance!

So I guess I shouldn't email all the Loyalists about this?
BTW the MLSnet.com broadcast is at 1pm MST and is an interview with Ellinger, Pastorino and Celebrity Allocation (read "Clint Mathis"). It is not a rebroadcast of the Allocation announcement which is held at 10AM today.

Deuce call me!

So now the real pain of bedrest begins for me... I'd adore to be able to worm my way in ("Hey Trey, remember me??") and have my picture taken with the famous man himself. Instead, I'll be sitting on my bed or couch feeling sorry for myself and wondering if I'll ever want to get pregnant again. :D

Curses!!!

Of all the days for Sardine Canyon to be snowpacked! Well, I guess the odds of snow in that area at this time of year is pretty high.

Sorry Deuce, no camera.

Went to the Press Conference... it was great.
SoccerPrime I tried to call you twice after the news conference but only got voicemail.
Unfortuanately I was too pre-occupied to take notes so I will go from memory. 🙁 wish i would have taken notes tho!

The usual FO staff were on hand!
Clint Mathis, Jason Kreis, Evan Whitfield and DJ Countess were there.
I was able to get an old digicam from my work and got a few pics! they are not great but I will post them as soon as I get them from the cam.

Steve Pastorino announced that there are 4 other players that are about to sign with RSL but did not elaborate other than to say there will be more player announcements in the coming week.

Training camp starts February 1st in Florida for a few weeks, then will move to Europe and then to LA before the season starts.

Steve Pastorino also officially announced a partnership with Hannover 96 and said Hannover will be in Salt Lake for a friendly possibly this season but more realistically next season.
There will also be player loans going both ways in future.

Clint Mathis, wearing a pink button down shirt and a pink and silver striped tie, was led into the conference by about 8 kids mostly in Blitzz uniforms... all sporting mohawks... kinda cute...
He was a very soft spoken man with a very prominent southern accent, which even tho I knew he was from Georgia I did not expect it to be so strong.

That is pretty much all I can think of right now but I will try to post more as I remember it... sorry... I am a terrible reporter... but I will get better...

I was also there. Deuce got most of it. Quite a few people there. The Mathis highlight clip was pretty cool. Pastorino sounded pretty excired about the 1st round pick next week. I van't think of anything else that Deuce didn't cover already.

Both videos were pretty good... I would like to get copies of them if they are available anywhere...

One thing that was quite funny was the 'Delvin' crack by Mathis to DJ Countess... you could definitely tell that they are friends...
Mathis also made a remark about a past 'difference of opinion' with Jason Kreis but since playing together on the USMNT, they have wanted to play on a team together.
Then he (Mathis) said that he was not going to play for Dallas and Jason was not leaving Dallas... so he was pleased that he was finally able to play on a team with Kreis in Salt Lake.

anyway... more if I remember more.
This conference call seems to be very, very close to the original news conference...

I scanned the pictures that RSL was giving out at the news conference... these are the autographed publicity shots.

They are in pdf form because that is all that work would scan to email in.
The scanner basically stinks!

Jason Kreis

Clint Mathis

Evan Whitfield

DJ Countess

After you open them reduce them to 65% to appreciate them!
