Palermo is the best city in Italy IMHO. I named one of my cane corsos (dogs) Palermo and the other Catania. I was there in December and watched Palermo vs Calgiari.

Hey Jake, did you catch these stories? After all the crap Lazio gets about being facist, Roma seems to be just as bad. No longer can Roma fans point to Lazio's fan's politics and sneer.

Jules: the breed Cane Corso is from Sicily/southern Italy so I named my dogs after Sicilian cities - Catania being one. I hadn't ever thought about any connection between the name Catania and "Settlers of Catan."

in italian names of cities always end with a vowel. i.e. Roma, Catania, Lazio, Spaghettio's (ok that last one I made up)
but in english we decided not to do that because english is right! italian is wrong! you can see how it is with the olympics next month. Turin is how it was pimped originally, but networks decided to go with the native tounge way of saying it 'Turino'
