9400 South Transit Center

I'm assuming that a "transit center" means a Trax Stop?

Well, 9400 South is getting one.

In January or February after it opens, they should put up some boards, let the sprinklers run and the Grizzlies can play an outdoor game there; like a couple of NHL teams did a couple of years ago.

Nice! That will make it only about a two block walk to the stadium.

What does everyone think about electronic sign boards for the stadium? They have them now at the Home Depot Center.

They looked great on tv today but I have heard in person they can be hard on the eyes. Any thoughts?

With no commercial breaks for broadcasts, I think they make sense. I've never seen them in person, but I think they look cool on TV.

Isn't there already a Trax stop at like 9800 S.? I think there is. Is it that big of a deal to get one at 9400 S. too? In fact, I think that it would be "sixes" from either one as far as getting to the stadium. So why build another stop?

I've been to a game at the HDC since they put in the electronic sign boards and I didn't notice them being hard on my eyes. All the activity on the boards was a little distracting at first, but it doesn't take long to get used to it.

There's one at 9000 South with almost no parking and one at 10000.

The 9400 South Trax stop would also serve the South Towne Expo Center and Larryopolis.

The 9400 South station is designed to reduce vehicle traffic and the need for parking - in other words it will not be a park-and-ride. Jordan Commons has its own parking structures, but even its parking spills over into the outlying neighborhoods, and we're all familiar with the Expo Center's parking needs. A stadium fits nicely into that "destination-stop" plan.
