Real Salt Lake made perhaps the most surprising move with the waiving of goalkeeper D.J. Countess. He was the preferred starter for head coach John Ellinger in the club's first season, starting in 27 games and compiling a goals-against average of just over two per game. Other experienced RSL men released include forward Dante Washington, who turns 35 this month, and defender Rusty Pierce, who made 15 appearances in 2005.

There was an big article in our newspaper that leads one to believe they are headed this way. It sounds like the only catch would be if there is an outright buyer that would keep them in San Jose. It should be interesting.

Who is the new keeper?

Is Ellinger planning on giving Nolly the starting spot in goal or do you think he wants to bring a new keeper in? (Tim Howard has been riding the pine for a while, maybe ...)

Sorry to see DJ go. He was a class act all the way. Involved in good charity efforts, and he always went out of his way to show appreciation to the crowd. How many pairs of gloves did he throw into the stands this season?

Good luck to you DJ. Hope your career is a long and successful one.
