Wonderful exciting game. Happy to be on the winning side, but were it before the mid-90s when they started using overtime in the NCAA, a tie would have been a fair result for both sides. Really was a game neither deserved to lose. But what about Brett Ratliff? Showed amazing poise and ability for a guy in his first Division 1 start.

Hoping both schools can go to a bowl and represent our part of the country well.

I don't understand the logic of Utah fans thinking that their practice facilities are something special. Actually, I do. Utah fans proclaim that their facility is great because Urban Meyer said it was the best just before he bolted for Florida. The fact is that Utah's facility, built after BYU's, cost $6 million. On the other hand, BYU's indoor facility cost $9 million. Nine is more than 6, right?

Never mind the fact that BYU also spent $21 million dollars on a Student Athlete Center at the same time as they built the practice facility. That's a whopping $30 million dollars in brand-new facilities that BYU has at its disposal compared to $6 million from the U.

The logic of Ute fans doesn't add up on that issue, and interstingly, neither does your logic when it comes to fans.

"We're cheap, but there's lots and lots of us." Haha! Thanks for expressing what every BYU fan thinks of you lot. You're basically saying that attendence isn't important because, after all, you guys have all these imaginary fans. They're just too cheap to come to the game and actually support their team.

I've read thread after glorious thread on this website talking about Real Salt Lake's superb attendance and how great the fans were, etc. for coming out to root for RSL.

Yet that argument doesn't also apply to BYU? Only Real?

Alright, I'm done whining. For anyone who's waded through this post, thanks for allowing me to b**ch for a bit.

p.s. Rover, how exactly are BYU fans inintentionally? What does that mean, out of curiousity?

Tell me you're not serious. I was simply repeating back what BYU fans say--having some fun by paraphrasing your words. I wasn't speaking as a Utah fan. Hope that clears up the confusion.

Good for BYU that they have a bigger stadium and new facilities and all that. I have no connection to BYU, so the information is wasted on me, but I'm sure everything is well built down in Provo. But the original point was that attendance/stadium/practice facililty smack is rather hollow when you lose four straight games.

I'm a Utah fan and I really don't care what BYU does. I hope they represent the conference well and I hope they lose when they play Utah but that's about all the attention I pay to the Y. Rivalry week is fun but now it's on to bowl games and basketball.

As for RSL's attendance, it's clear that an organization that's been around for a year has to establish credibility, and gate is one way to do that--hence the attention paid to crowd size at soccer games. BYU and Utah draw large crowds for football games and have done so for many years, so credibility is not an issue. Apples and oranges.

You wanted to know the meaning of "inintentionally"? Look it up, right after you check out "interstingly."

Rover,

Pointing out spelling errors. That was extremely childish--by me. It always bothers me when some moron points out something like that on MBs, and then I go ahead and do the same thing last week. My apologies to you.

All I was really trying to address was the fact that Utah fans do engage in so much facility/fan smack talk even though the facts suggest something else. Has Utah beaten BYU four-straight times in football? Absolutely. And BYU has looked pathetic in many of those games. Also, basketball. Utah has kicked the crap out of BYU for years and years.

If I was a Utah fan, that's would I would be hanging my hat on. Utah has had better coaches and better players than BYU in those two sports over the last several years. The Utes do have some great, great fans. If I was a BYU fan, I would hope that my school could have people as passionate as them rooting for my school. But it does irk me when Utah fans begin claiming they have better facilities and more fans than BYU, when clearly they don't.

That is all.
