A Members Section

This meeting and all of the cryptic answers coming from us about the meeting last night highlights the need for a members section on the boards or on realsaltlake.org that is for "paid up Loyalist" members only.

It is really not us all feeling like we are better than the rest by keeping secrets and we are really not trying to be immature about it... It is just that some things were said to us that were specifically stated as "for the Loyalists..." and the info was entrusted to us and I am reasonably sure that if we were to share it all here that trust would not be extended a second time!
I don't know maybe I am making more of this than needs to be, I hope not!

What are ppl's thoughts on a members only section?

Well I feel that there maybe things to do with the Supporters Club that might be "members only"; but I am having a hard time thinking that we need to keep a public meeting secret. I mean, for instance, what if Edwards from the DesNews was there and he was not a paying member of the Loyalists (is he?). I am sure Edwards would write something up.
Thats my thoughts any way.

It was not technically a public meeting as it was advertised as a club meeting, of course, I am not going to argue semantics so I will have to point you in the direction of Loyal1
He went that way! -------->
:o

There actually was a member of the press there last night... He took notes for the loyalist's but I don't think he was on the clock for ABC.
just FYI

I am not blaming you for this Deuce, your just the only one that was there that is talking to us "no shows".
I am little vague on this "advertised for Loyalist" meeting idea. Did someone check names when they entered in the room?
Also, I don't think dysko counts as media, but I wonder if he is keeping silent about the "news" as it may be.

I just wrote this in the post-meeting forum, but the reason I hesitated on those two points is that

A. One on point Steve Pastorino started by saying "I guess I can tell this group that..." which means there are groups he wouldn't tell, right? If he doesn't want it plastered all over town then I am not going to betray that trust.

2. The one about the player talking about the US National situation could put the player in hot water with others, so I didn't want to do that.

I shouldn't have brought it up at all, I was just trying to tell you what happened at the meeting without doing either of the above.

Deuce you read my mind by the way, I actually had written half a post asking about a members-only forum and then decided not to post it :D

For the record the Loyalist announcement email list is NOT the same as the list of DUE PAYING Loyalists, if that helps this conversation.

True... there was some discussion by RSL ppl that the list of Loyalists (paid and unpaid) was being looked at. Their was some question over loyalists asking for the discount and not actually being paid up loyalists.

Loyal1 now has a list of ppl that recieved the discount and I am sure he will be comparing this to the Member list!

OK PEOPLE!!!
So now is your chance to come clean.... go visit the "Paypal is here" sticky on the Loyalist thread and become a dues paying member... especially if you asked for and received the Loyalist Discount... don't be one of the few that will screw it up for the rest of us!

Sorry peeps...

I know this sounds lame, but I went overlimit on my credit card to buy my RSL season tickets, I have a tuition bill due at the end of the month, and I'm still paying for Xmas. Plus, I make less than your average illegal immigrant cleaning person, so I can't afford to play right now.

I didn't ask for a discount though, so does that make me less of a loser? 😉

No, but maybe next year you can bake or carve all of your Christmas gifts. :D
Just kidding. If you didn't lie to get a discount, what did you do wrong?
Although I have to say, I don't think RSL is doing any more than saying "are you a Loyalist" to people who buy tickets. Not very solid membership identification.

WE NEED MEMBERSHIP CARDS!

Well you can still play then...
The questions and concerns were aimed at people asking for and recieving the discount... Without being actual members!
