I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you; to read that Chivas USA might bring in an over-the-hill hero of Mexican soccer who was great in the 90's.

Maybe he'll turn out to be Youri Djorkaeff or Peter Nowak.

If he turns out to be Carlos Hermosillo, he'll be doing better than expected.

You'll see the mex federation wanna keep Claudio playing until he beats a record with the national team.... he wants to retire later this year or something like that... Chivas USA is kinda like a "meanwhile"...

Good to see Chivas USA has changed tatics and only are now bringing in only Mexican NT players and those in their prime....oh wait, thats not what their doing at all.

They still have the idea that their worst player, on his worst day, can beat ANY player raised in the US. It's a racial advantage. Even after a full season, in which they came in dead last, they still think that idea holds. It must have been the coaching, or.............something!

I'm starting to wonder what Bradley's got himself into with this move. I figured a couple players would be cleared out, not re-signed.

Claudio is (hopefully, "was". I don't want to see him go Joe Namath with the Rams/Willie Mays with the Mets) one of the Good Guys on El Tri.

He's tough, but fair. A very classy defender. Think of him as the Anti Rafa Marquez.

But watching him try to cover Brian Ching, Eddie Johnson, Herc Gomez or heck even Jason Kreis one on one after CDC USA's goofy defense breaks down will be painful to watch.
