Flag Display at Tailgate Parties

At the Loyalist Tailgate Party this year there will be a new feature. It is the Real Flag Display. Everyone who has flags, be sure to bring them to the tailgate party. We will pound in a stake in the grassy area by the street that you can display your flag on. I have enough stakes for 25 flags, and if we need more, I'll purchase some more for the next game.

I set up some of my flags that I have at home, and the display should look something like this:

Another flag related thing.

This year, I am starting up the Flag Box. This will be a cardboard box that we will keep at the front of the section. If you have extra flags, you put them in the box, and then people who don't have flags come to the box and get one to wave during the game. Like I said earlier, I have eight flags, so there will be at least seven for others to wave. I know a few others who also have extra flags. I think only The Cup's flags will not fit in the box. So if you want to wave one of his biggies, you'll have to talk to him. He has extras though, so he'll surely let you take it for a game.

There are flags for all, so if you want to wave a flag, just get one and have at it.

Those look great Merrill! I'm going to try to make a couple of those two-handled flag/banner thingies.

We could put those up with the flag display as well.

I've got a two handled banner in the works as well. It will be part of what I hope will become a new tradition amongst the Loyalists. Watch this space for more info! 😉 I'll post about it when I finish it.

I thought it would be nice to have a list of players & backgrounds. Let me know if I miss any.

Costa Rica - Douglas Sequiera, Daniel Torres
Guatemala - Gustavo Cabrera
Jamaica - Jeff Cunningham, Ryan Johnson?, Andy Williams
Liberia - Willis Forko
Morrocco - Mehdi Ballouchy
New Zealand - Cameron Knowles
Nigeria - Nelson Akwari (born in US, parents immigrated)
St. Kitts-Nevis - Attiba Harris

We could also include England on that list for Peter Mellor

I can try and find all of these flags if everyone would be interested. Where would we hang them? And what size flags?

I just found an online site that shows tons of great ideas for flags:
http://www.flags.net/
Try a search for flags containing red, yellow, and blue.
