Idea for Raising Money for Stadium!

Here is one idea I had that could help the city raise money for the stadium and might make the public a little more receptive to the idea of public funding for the remaining bit.

The Salt Lake Olympic Commitee did it to raise money for the Olympics and that was a one-off event... so why not do it for something that will last a lot longer than 14 days in February!

I like this idea because RSL fans from other parts of the state can contribute. It's not confined to only Salt Lake county. If I were an innocent tax payer it would make me feel better knowing that the team was doing everything in their own power to raise money themsevles.

👍

Besides...How cool would it be to have plates like that? Where do I have to sign, and how much are they?

But I doubt it could happen, as the RSL is a private company and the plates are government business and never the twain shall meet, as they say.

Just one note about that... there are a few institutions that have plates like these but are not government!

The plates are titled special interest groups... but I am not sure what the requirements are to have a special plate done.

However I think it would be a good idea to make them to help generate revenue for the stadium. NOT to help fund or promote Real Salt Lake.
Obviously they will be an indirect advertisement for Real Salt Lake but money generated would not go to them, so therein lies the seperation.

side note: does anyone have any of those Olympic Plates lying around that they might want to part with... I was in the UK when they were available and never had the opportunity to get a set!

Anybody got a set of those I can put an RSL sticker over the top of and make my own RSL plate? 🙂

I don't know about Utah, but in Florida every NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB team has vehicle license plates. Also, every college does too. And so do the manatees, dolphins....
About 56 in all.

E-mail a copy of this to Trey Fitz-Gerald. If it CAN be done, it would probably be a good idea. And it would really show the nay sayers that there is support for the team. I mean, what are they going to say when everywhere they go they see these license plates? Eventually, it's bound to sink in.

This would be sweet. I'd buy a bunch. Of course, I would need to buy some more cars to put them all on.
