Oh.
My. Ballouchy looked pretty good, as did Cunningham. What the hell happened to Klein? Andy looks slower than last year. Garlick had an OK game. Not terribly impressed with Sequeira. Atiba was average. Our D sucks. Our passing sucks. Our midfield could care less about winning balls. And it looks like our pursuit of the perfect shot continues: SHOOT THE FREAKING BALL, GUYS!!! 1 or 2 more games like that and I say Ellinger goes. And FAST. ⚽ Geoff ----------------------- REGULATORS! Mount up! There's nothing worse than losing to Chivas...

Brown got absolutely slaughtered a few times down the right flank -- but Klein wasn't giving him a lot of help, either. And I agree about the deja vu thing, it's like one of those bad acid trips that they tell you about when you're in fifth grade to keep you from trying drugs. Wouldn't have made much of a difference if Jamie had played... it's not like the forwards were getting much decent service or anything.

JW would've had the same problem as Harris tonight. I don't want to start the fire ellinger crap. The time to do that was back in October. This isn't the time nor place. And I don't want to make too much out of one single game. It's one thing to practice together; it's another to play in a game that counts. And other than Pope, Brown and Williams, not one of the starters tonight played for RSL last year. That said, I had found myself questioning Ellinger's tactics again tonight. Chivas has 2 rookie fullbacks and they looked like vets. How could RSL not have better exploited that? Also, Harris and Cunningham is the fastest front line in the league and RSL didn't seem to do anything to try to exploit that. That said, well, so it goes. It's the first game of the season and new crop of players. They were playing on the road. They could've played better but if the ball bounces a lil' differently, they go into half-time tied at one and that very well may be the way it would've ended given chivas' play in the 2nd half. __________________

they didn't exploit it because they don't seem to be able to pass more than 4 passes together tonight. Possesion is key. even if you're making no ground if you can keep possesion for a length of time the other team will get tired and start to make mistakes opening gaps for you to exploit.
Chiva's didn't play overly well ... they took their chances when given but that was about it. They may have seemed better though atleast statistically due to the poor play of rsl, giving balls away, allowing too much time on the ball etc.

We sucked really really really really reAlly bad tonight.
Forget about putting 4 passes together, every pass went directly to the goats, and not even like passes made under pressure! Every pass! Here's a game to play: Count how many times Williams gets the ball. and. then. stops. The most passive defense I have ever seen. Those guys seriously just stand there! They have no desire whatsoever to get the ball or to stop the opposition from firing at will. Furthermore, I should have been more skeptical when they were saying "Brown has really caught on to the right back position" - holy cow did he stink it up back there. My only positive from the match: Cutler's moustache. __________________

Wow...just....wow.
How can an entire team be so apathetic? Where's the leadership? The drive? Something is wrong, and I'm beginning to believe that it's a deeper problem than just "we suck". I'm glad I didn't pay money to watch that disaster.

I don't want to judge everything on the first game of the season, but if it goes on like this, you can count me in the Fire Ellinger camp. You are right, there is a lot more wrong with that team than just "we suck." I mean, we do suck... but why do we? Tonight they looked like a bunch of players who had no strategy, chemistry, drive, leadership, ... basically everything a coach is responsible for. My clock is ticking on Ellinger. __________________

Rolfe was awesome yesterday. He could of had some dives and try and get the call, but he played through it and usually had a shot afterward. new chant for 06: Get off your ass! (used for both teams who want to dive). RCB motto for '06: Stop being a woman! (sorry ladies but the other word I was using won't show up here and I'm sure you are tougher than anything I saw today).
