Anti-RSL Articles

I was just looking around ESPN and found a few not necessarily anti but more doubting of RSL articles. (Did that make sense?)

1)Things to ponder:MLS 2006-http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=363451&root=mls&cc=5901
I don't think Ives has been paying any attention to Real Salt Lake.

a)Talking about if the Galaxy can win MLS Cup 2006 again:

b)Speaking on what strikers will make a difference:

He will play alongside Youri Djorkaeff and in front of Amado Guevara, arguably the most skilled tandem he has ever been paired with.

What can I say, every person put RSL in last except for two who said we went for eleventh. At least Jeff Carlisle put Medhi as rookie of the year.

Speaking of Jeff Carlisle, he is actually not an anti-RSL writer. Which leads us to article C, RSL Season Preview.
c)RSL Season Preview:http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=363111&root=mls&cc=5901Carlisle still agrees that RSL won't get a playoff spot, but will be vastly improved from last year. We have Jeff Carlisle on our side!

I just hope that we can shock these guys this year. We don't want to be known as the team that lost to Chivas 5-1, do we?

I've exchanged some emails with Ives in the past. He's a good guy. I wouldn't read too much into those passing statements. For example, Cunningham nabbed 12 last year. He doesn't have a lot of room for turning things around since a lot of what happened last year was just Clavijo being a schmuck.

I don't get the LA thing. They really struggled at times last year. And had CO not came out flat against them last year and not lost, I suspect Ives wouldn't be suggesting that they're on the verge of winning the title. Afterall, winning an MLS title did San Jose loads. They won it '03 and turned around the next year and nearly finished last in the west.

It's not anti-RSL, it's just realistic.
