4-4-2 with Talley as a D-mid. Meaning that Cutler has been booted to the second team, and that we'll see Brown again at right back?

I don't mind Talley in the midfield and Besagno as center back. Much easier to swallow than the "Andy as forward", "Jason in the midfielder", "Ballouchy out wide" and "Chris Brown is so versatile that he can play ANYWHERE!" experiments. I think those moves actually make sense, and some changes were inevitable for this week.

My question is who else is going to be playing in the central role? Eddie is gone so what does that give us for a back line?

Is Torres healthy?
We could see Brown, Akwari, Besagno, and Forko in the back this coming weekend. I really hope Nik is ready for the challenge. It would be nice to see him become a mainstay for us.

This may not be the time to bring Nolly out since his back line may be swiss cheese for a couple of games.

Who do you think will be the back four, did Ellinger say?

I can't remember exactly but Brown's name didn't even come up when he was listing off the defense. He was talking about D. Torres in the middle, Forko, Akwari, and . . .I guess Besagno. Right on with the experiments though.

This may not be a bad time to bring this defensive front. Without Lando this weekend who do the Galaxy have as a scoring threat? Hercules will not be much of a threat since he only thrives if everybody forgets he's on the pitch. His game is going to severely suffer without Donovan. Is Cornell Glenn back from his hamstring injury? LA's attack might be limited to just Cobi Jones.

This will be a good week to see how the World Cup part of our season will go. We'll face a LAG team w/o Landy (phew) and Albright (phew). the back line will be tested by Herc, Coby and Thiago (the new guy they brought up from Brazil).

If we do well this week, we might have a good time during the world cup.

ahh. who am I kidding.

This whole discussion is a mute point. You guys don't seem to remember that Ellinger will be coaching the team this Saturday.

Great comments so far.

I watched a lot of Dallas matches over the years, Talley, IMHO, looked much better in the d-mid role at Dallas than he has ever looked on the fullback position in RSL. He backed up Valakari and sometimes O'Brien in the midfield, so he can play wing too if necessary.

And I also think the Besagno central back might work. I also remember him playing that for the U17s.

Perhaps his most shining moment last year came when he defended his teamate against Eddie "The Butcher" Robinson in a SJ/Dallas match. They were both red carded when Talley sucker punched Robinson.
We need that passion to show up as our d-mid on Saturday.
