"It's ironic, everyone wants to move Mehdi into the middle, but the guy just played the best game he's played all year, and he was playing left mid," said Ellinger. "He's playing the position the way it's supposed to be played, yet everyone wants to move him to middle."

That's because he moved to the middle while he was supposed to be playing left mid and left the team with no width to the attack. Put Ryan Johnson wide so the Galaxy has to account for him which will open up some space in the middle.

Not sure if this qualifies for news of the day, but Real Madrid is up by a point on Velencia with, I think, just two games remaining.

again, I have to reflect on the game against the crew. the opening half the RCB in E38 kept looking t open field where Medhi was supposed to be playing and there wasn't anyone. there was a large corner of astroturf just sitting there with nobody in it.

I've noticed the same thing when Andy plays on the wings...he naturally starts to gravitate to the middle of the field.

Interesting that Ellinger is so aware of public opinion. Maybe he reads the boards. Hey coach!! Put Mehdi in the middle!!!

Actually they have a single game each left. (ESPN and a few sites incorrectly list upcoming games more than once.) Games will be played on Tuesday 16th at the same time. One game live on GOLTV, other is delayed and shown right after. Should be noted Valencia has the tie breaker between the two (head to head record is used in Spain) if they tie on points.

I read that, and I couldn't believe that was the only mention of MLS--has the writer not BEEN to an RSL game? We've got some of the best hecklers anywhere. (I'm lookin' at you, RCB.) You could write a whole dissertation after his "be creative" bullet point with just "hang the referee" and "You suck, [keeper]" chants. Sigh.

I say we write our own rules of the game, just for soccer, and send it in 😉
