Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist over this? Look let me be clear once again about what I am saying.

1. Don't say something personal here about a player if you're not willing to say it to their face.
2. I never said that it was wrong to critisize players here, they play professional soccer and leave themselves open to criticism in any public forum, I simply said that I don't think starting rumours or simply making things up is fair or reasonable. If you think a player played poorly no problem, say it as many times as you want, but to make up something that assumes inside knowledge when there obviously isnt any is wrong and deserves to be challenged.
3.Making sarcastic comments based on what you think you know about me is pointless, I'm not buddy-buddy with all the players but I have friendships with some that are here and some that are gone.
4.How would you feel if someone made up rumours about you and started posting them here as fact? Would it bother you? I would defend you here as I do anyone else who is not here to defend themselves on personal things. Their opportunity to defend themselves about soccer criticisms is on the pitch.

But attacking someone on a personal level behind their back is uncalled for.

Did I miss the part where someone said lascivious things about Andy Williams' mom or something, because I didn't see anything that I would consider "personal"...?

You used the same argument -- that we're all too cowardly to say it face-to-face -- when people were criticizing Ellinger's coaching, too. And it was only slightly condescending then.

You can try to cloud it all you want but calling someone lazy and uniterested when one clearly cannot know that for certain is unfair. Make any excuses you want for gossip and twist whatever I say however many times you want - it doesn't take away from my original point that I believe it's fine to say whatever you want about a players performance but saying personal things about them is wrong and unfair.

The fact remains that my opinion is as valid as yours or anyone elses, and if you are willing to give it then shouldn't you be able to take it just as well?

Your opinion is certainly valid... I just don't think the way you've been expressing it to people on this forum has been particularly appropriate.

So I'm "taking it" (and my 500 bananas) for them.

FWIW, we have VASTLY differing opinions as to what personal attacks are, because the gym board I frequent makes calling someone "lazy" or "disinterested" look like a game of My Little Pony.

That's what fan sites tend to do, generally...

Then if you bring your 'My little Pony's' I'll bring my Lego and I'll build a stable and we can play nicely. 🙂

I just want to apologise, I seem to have fallen into the same trap I was criticising others for in assuming that Cabrera couldn't speak English well. I am told he took classes and has tried very hard to learn, perhaps I was ill informed, perhaps not, but either way I would rather apologise now and withdraw those comments that were unfair.

Do you think we would be able to trade Andy Williams or Chris Brown?

That's a lot of money in MLS to sit on a bench. I like Andy but why night give him the opportunity to play on another team and hand the reigns to Mehdi.

This team needs some depth. As much as I've assumed that the grass is greener, that someone else brought in for Brown or Williams would be better, I can't really claim that to be true. Afterall, who would trade for Brown? Doesn't quite cut it up top, hasn't proven himself as a RB and such. I think I'd rather have him around to back up Novak and Klein. Andy, well, I don't know. Is there really an MLS club looking for someone with his skills?

You could say the same thing about Cunningham ... but he seems pretty good value coming off the bench right now doesn't he?

Considering Williams' performance and positive impact last night I'd say feel free to play them when you want coach, your timing was impeccable for the subs last night.

I wouldn't get rid of Cunningham since he is almost guaranteed to be in at least part of every game and he produces when he is in.

I actually like Andy Williams for the most part but I was suggesting since he is one of our larger salaries that it might be a better business decison to trade him to someone in need of a veteran attacking mid and then maybe we could get a good veteran left mid in return., Thus leaving the middle of the field open for the future attacking mid, Medhi. I was looking at this as Andy having decent trade value and thus giving him a chance to get a fresh start with a new team. The starting 11 would get an upgrade if Medhi ran the show in the middle and we would maybe be able to get an upgrade at left midfield which has been a hole since we started.

Now Brown is a whole other story.
