Cunningham's goal was made even more beautiful by the fact that he celebrated it with the Loyalists.

For you Out Of Towners, we serenaded the Wizards with "You're going home to an empty stadium".

Someone a lot smarter than me once said "MLS games during the World Cup are like wartime baseball" but maybe Robin Fraser would not send in Jamie Watson late in the game with a 1-goal lead.

I saw this during the Galaxy game and I should have mentioned it. But I saw it again, too.

I saw a couple of incidents of RSL stringing together several beautiful one-touch passes. You can see how you could do that on an 80-yard-wide Victoria Street field. But it's even more impressive on field turf. Maybe Robin Fraser would have them doing that, but John Ellinger definitely did.

Maybe my lucky Blitzz shirt and Lagoon hat did not bring RSL luck. I think it was Steve Pastorino. Steve now has to watch all home RSL games from the Loyalists section.

👍

No one has said anything about the "North Goal Jinx". Did they score in the North Goal, or not. Since you said he celebrated with the Loyalists, it sounds like they might have broken another jinx.

Well?

Well?

Hmmm?

Also, what was the attendance? Please tell me there was a good crowd.

16,222, including some standing and chanting from the North Enders.

All 3 goals were into the north goal.

We scored into the north goal in an earlier game this year also.

Speaking good ol' SP, maybe this means his move to the training grounds is working?

Very nicely done.

Thanks for the description.

Win aside, how well did RSL play?

Will Sequeiera get his starting spot back when he returns from the WC?

Actually, it was interesting. Steve came by, and actually stood by my wife and I to keep an eye on some fans that were trying to make fun of the Loyalists by chanting the wrong words and pretending they were drunk. He was standing in the stairwell and a security person came by and told him to stay out of the stairwell - it was pretty funny. But my point was that we were still down by one goal when he decided to leave and he told me s he was passing "I'm going to try and find some good karma."

Not sure where he went to find it, but I guess he did!
