Dang you Steve Cherundolo!!
I wouldn't fault Cherundolo. US was playing VERY thin in the back towards the end. We were basically playing a 3-3-4 to get the win. Morocco got us on a counter-attack.

Has anyone forgot to mention that Morrocco is usually the top team in Africa, and a usual World Cup team? I'll bet they felt like they have something to prove last night, while the US squad overlooked them. I hope this is a wake up call!

By the way, a little info -
2002 - US loses to Holland and Ireland within two months of the cup
1998 - US wins or ties all matches within two months of the cup
1994 - US loses to Iceland(?!?) and Chile within two months of the cup

So US success, or failure before the cup does not directly translate to success or failure in the cup.

I Tivoed the game... after about the fourth time I fell asleep trying to watch it, I gave up and went to bed.

Guess I won't bother with the last 20 minutes.

KC, do you remember Mexico's friendlies before 1998? El Tri lost to Chile's under 20 team. Then, in France, Mexico almost beat Germany.

ESPN began their 5 day series of short insider news reports on TEAM USA called All Access. Wednesday's first edition was about the loss to Morocco and can be seen at the Soccernet USA page. To find the video clip you must scroll down the right side of the page to "Motion Video", then locate the one about USA v Morocco (it's easy to find).

Wednesday they showed Bruce laying into the guys about how they played. He told Eddie Johnson that he wasn't aggressive enough, "How many times you get called off-sides Eddie?" "How many fouls you get called for?"
