Which US players Impressed you the most in this World Cup?

The US run in the 2006 World Cup is now over. There were some poor performers and some highlights. Which players impressed you (and possibly scouts overseas) the most?

Dempsey and Gooch. That's about it. I think DaMarcus Beasley may be coming home soon, despite his perfect cross to Dempsey. McBride didn't do crap. Landon was nowhere today. Sucks to be Reyna. Maybe Conrad made some good impressions today.

Dempsey and Convey both were dangerous on the outsides. Makes me wonder why Convey didn't start this last match (fatigue maybe?).

Dempsey's stock in Europe might have skyrocketed. Yet, he seemed to have trouble going the full 90 - or maybe that's just my imagination. Good thing NE won't have him against RSL this weekend!

Dempsey was seriously the only real bright spot. Gooch and Convey were good, but the bad is just too much right now.

Clint Dempsy way the only one that played that impressed me. I voted for JOB as a joke, because, if healthy, he should have been one of the stars. Instead, he took a valuable spot to sit on the bench. Why did BA take him if he wasn't even healthy enough to come in when Reyna went down today?

Can we give half votes? Cause EJ played very well vs. Czech, but played horribly vs. Ghana.

I voted for Gooch, Conrad and Dempsey. Gooch is a big guy that is very skilled. His size often gets fouls called on him, but he was able to contain himself for the most part. Conrad blocked a would-be Ghanaian goal, and got back on every single play. Dempsey scored a great goal! He brought energy to the games he played in.

I didn't vote for him, but Convey played pretty well today vs. Ghana. He made runs down the line and got some crosses in.

Isn't that his entire career in a one sentence nutshell?

Not when he was with Ajax, not in 2002 with the USMNT. Maybe that is the present and future for him though.

A related, interesting question is: Which players stock has risen because of the World Cup?

My answer: unequivocably, Oguchi Onyewu

And to a lesser extent:
Pablo Mastroeni
Clint Dempsey

Whose stock declined because of the World Cup?

Claudio Reyna
DaMarcus Beasley
Landon Donovan
