U.S. Notes: In a reversal from previous USSF statements, Gulati said he would consider entering the national team in next summer's Copa America, the prestigious South American tournament, even though it is scheduled to begin just a few days after the completion of the U.S. squad's own regional championship, the Gold Cup. The U.S. team has a standing invitation to play in Copa America after winning the 2005 Gold Cup.

The last time we were in a Copa America, we beat Argentina 3-0.

Alexi Lalas even scored a goal with his foot!

I was working with Brazilians then, and so coming into work the day after that was pretty fun.

I would be very happy if they did. I think it would give us a chance to face quality competition and to get meaningful tournament experience.
