Speculation is now growing as to what Materazzi said or did. Two versions are gathering pace. The first, according to The Guardian is that Materazzi called Zizou a “terrorist” because of his Algerian roots. The second, according to Brazilian TV channel Globo is that Materazzi insulted Zizou’s sister, Lila, and called her a “prostitute” twice.

Zinedine Zidane's agent says the France captain headbutted Marco Materazzi in Sunday's World Cup final because the Italian made a "very serious" comment.
Zidane appeared to react to something that was said and was dismissed for his violent charge into his opponent.

"He told me Materazzi said something very serious to him but he wouldn't tell me what," agent Alain Migliaccio told BBC Five Live Sport.

Sources in France say it is believed Materazzi insulted Zidane's mother.

Speculation of Materazzi's comments range from racist abuse to allegations that Materazzi had accused Zidane of being involved in the steroid abuse scandal that tainted his former club Juventus.

All these assumptions...I think people are reading too much into it.

I think Materazzi simply said "Hey, Z. How hard do you think you could hit me with your head?"

When my mother was pregnant with me they did an ultrasound and found she was having twins. When they did another ultrasound a few weeks later they discovered that I had reabsorbed the other fetus.
