There are a few nice hotels very close to the stadium, and many more downtown where you can take commuter rail up to the stadium. However, I would advise you to stay in Bountiful (it's a suburb to the north of Salt Lake) or Provo (south of Salt Lake) because they're not in Salt Lake County. You should boycott Salt Lake County. You see, there are these politicians who want the benefits Real Salt Lake brings to the community but are unwilling to do anything to help. I would love it if Salt Lake County didn't make a penny off this game.

But if you must stay within 45 minutes of the stadium, may I suggest the University Marriott? It's the closest hotel and it's very nice.

The stadium is a quick juant from downtown - so any hotel in downtown SLC would work. Plus you can ride TRAX from downtown right to the stadium parking lot. I know the Radisson is right along the TRAX route. The Little America and Grand America are too, but a bit farther south. Looks like you could get away with the Red Lion, or even the Shiloh Inn as well.

If you're looking for value, the Super 8 is a good choice. Or the Howard Jones Express.

If you are looking simply for value and convenience, there are a few motels on 72th south (one is a Motel 6) and on 33rd south just east of I-15 which are pretty much within a 5 minute walk from the TRAX line. They would be much cheaper than downtown motels and TRAX will let you off right at the stadium so you avoid parking hassles. You’d have to transfer once on TRAX at the Gallivan Center, but I’m sure one of the friendly RSL fans on your train will be happy to help out a fellow soccer fan (even one wearing a Rapids uniform!)
