After the Chivas Tie Ellinger must GO!

II am an original season ticket holder and have been a supporter of John Ellinger until last nights Chivas game. I am also a nationally licensed and experienced youth coach and feel like I know the game. I am not saying I am qualified to be a pro coach but the tactical coaching mistakes made last night were OBVIOUS. And he has done them before in past games. First of all how can you get into the extra time with a lead and not have used your 3rd substitute? The RSL players were beat tired and any fresh legs would have helped pressure the ball. Plus it would have stalled some time which would have potentially eaten that 30 seconds they scored in the extra time. Plus when he did use his 2nd sub why the h*ll would he sub a forward for a forward when they had the lead? Why not put in a defensive midfielder or defender? Then also sub a reserve player in (Joey Worthen) who was obviously nervous to play his first game in front of his hometown crowd? BAD MOVES!!! I think Ellinger is a great guy and a good coach but he just doesn’t have a feel or personality to coach professional players. It is time for John to go back to the youth national teams and do what he does best. I mean heck look at Chivas they stunk last year and brought in a new coach and are battling for 3rd place and turned their whole team around. For whatever reason new coaches energize a team and can make a BIG difference. Look at the other pro sports.

I'm on board with this as well...I like the idea of placing Ellinger in more of a scouting and player development role. Get a coach in there doesn't put up with what seems to be laziness and that is more of a motivator. He's got to be removed from the helm.

Seems like the general RSL talk forum needs a "Fire Ellinger" sub-forum. 🙂
