Loyalists Membership dues

I understand that dues are an annual $15 payable to "The Loyalists".

However, we still need an address to send these checks to.

Does Glenn and Dave not want my money?
🙂

Good question. The bank account is in Glenn's name right now, but we just voted in a treasurer Steve M, (see Jules' notes), so maybe it should go to him. Glenn?

I'm a little hesitant to just put my address out on the web.

Although Jules will probably have it posted by sundown.

I thinking about paypal. People says it's easy. Some of those people need to explain it to me.

lol... I don't have your actual address. I just saw a map on a phone number site that looked like you might live in a certain quadrant! 🙂

Go to www.PayPal.com and just sign up for an account, then it will all be explained to you. If you want more info, I'd be happy to email you about it.

I am under the impression that there is a service fee to recieve money via PayPal.
Also, not every Loyalist is on the web or will trust PayPal no matter what we say. How are you planning on accepting dues from these people?

I think the surcharge is 3%. So 45 cents for the $15. You can handle it two ways.

(1) Charge PayPal users $15.50 (You end up $.05 ahead! Wow!) 😉

(2) You just choose to say "Oh well" about the 45 cents because some people may only pay if there's a convenient method. (People like me. If I hadn't had cash on hand, I would have been stuck. I don't even own a checkbook anymore. It's either my SkyMiles card, my debit card or paying $1 surcharge to have a cashier's check made at my bank...)

You should certainly have some other option for people who are PayPalaphobic. (People like I was about six months ago.) I recommend that checks get sent to some "safe" location if you're worried about people having your home address. Have it sent to your work or an address of someone who's willing to run the risk of having "weirdos" know where you live! 😉

I have no idea how much they cost, but how about a club P.O. Box?

I'm almost 100% sure that would cost more than the PayPal surcharges. I think they're about $6/month minimum (I'm not sure where I'm pulling that number from, though...) which over the course of one year cost the club almost six of the membership fees total. However, if there would be some other use for the PO Box, that would be a fantastic idea.

Here is the website.

I am not sure if this amount is annual, but the cheapest is $35.
