You feel to comment on the fact that this post has an air of condescension as opposed to others? Why?

However, your basic premise is valid. Perhaps we should all take a step back and enjoy the day. I respect the fact that others don't share the same view of RSL's current situation and their path for getting there. I was just voicing my opinion on why I view things the way I do. What can I say, I enjoy debate. If I've crossed the line in any of my comments - please accept my apologies.

Go ReAL!!!

When someone can explain to me how he only failed that one test out of the @ dozen he took before and during the tour. Also when someone can show compelling evidence that steriod use would actually enhance racing.

Preach on, brother. I'd also like to know why it is that the lab involved didn't follow their own protocol, releasing the results to the press before they released them to Landis himself. I'm usually cautious about promulgating conspiracy theories, but I'll be very surprised if his "positive" sample wasn't tampered with by a very bitter and very stupid French lab technician. (Steroids? You might as well have doctored the sample with opium.)

The same problem with the tour keeps coming up--no one can believe that hard work and discipline actually CAN result in Tour wins. Everyone's gotta be doping. It doesn't help that they have a willing accomplice in Lemond, who's stunningly pissed that he won't ever be the ONLY American to win, and not the ONLY American to win more than once. FWIW, I'd love to know what he was on for the final TT on his first win...methinks he doth protest too much, if ya know what I mean.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. Same with Genios' comments about Utah County freaks. Some people just need to grow up already.

That being said...

As a representative of the repressive Provostan regime, I hereby call all proud provostanis to the cause of looking down on those poor infidels to the north.

Long live Provostan.

Give me a break...the analogy is perfect, that if something happens to someone the first to take blame should be the injured party. That is exactly what Aerick was saying, I was merely showing an obvious flaw in that line of thinking with an example everyone whould understand and agree upon. Furthermore, I suspect that Aerick has had enough interactions with me to know the way that was meant to be taken.

And if that really is "the most horrible thing" you have ever read you should read the newspaper, should have payed attention in high school lit class, or read Ellinger's post-match comments for the last 5/6 of this season.

Would it be correct to assume you don't have children? It isn't the words, it is the context.

That would be an incorrect assumption. Furthermore, about 60% of what I do on a typical work-day revolves around helping victims of child abuse and neglect. This morning for example we dealt with two deaths of children (a 3 year old and a infant under 1 month old). I am, therefore, particularly senstitive to "blame the victim" mentalities.

RSL has turned the stadium around, and most fans have agreed to give them some leeway untill at least the end of the season, but that doesn't change the fact to a great measure many fans feel that they have been treated poorly by the FO. How such treatment could possibly be seen as the fan's fault makes reason stare.

While I understand that you are a thought provoking person, I also feel that a better example could have been used there.

Herein, however, is a perfect example of my point. It's best to give Old Ska the benefit of the doubt in his comments, than it is to jump to the conclusion that he is purposefully trying to cause harm or insult. In this point, if I weren't to take that frame of reference, (the view that "the first to take blame should be the injured party") I would certainly decry him and his point as vicious and insulting. And while I may feel it's warranted, it only harms the interaction and potential relationship - especially if I feel the relationship can be a beneficial one.

In this case, then, I feel that my relationship with Old Ska is a positive one, and that while I feel he perhaps could have used an example less provocative, it's best to believe that he had good intentions with his post, and to respond accordingly, instead of inflaming the situation to the point where the relationship sours. In that regard, I hope I succeeded.

I should also note that I don't always do a good job at this. But I try. It's also much easier to do so on a forum when you can have a few minutes before responding. Too bad we don't have that luxury during all of our interactions.
