I have another question. If this is related to RSL because you are working on improving attendance, then I have to ask which you think will have the greater affect, a couple of disillusioned Ute fans that probably wouldn't have come to many games anyway? Or people constantly complaining about the FO and how much they suck? If you really want to help with attendance, you'd be much better off by not driving away fans actually interested in soccer by continually framing the FO as a bunch of screw-ups than worrying about offending the dozen or so Ute fans that might actually know Dean Howes and make the connection between him and RSL. I think the negativity towards the team does way more damage to attendence than firing Matt Thomas ever will.

Yes, it is. And I'm sure that they resent sharing it with "soccer people." At least that's the impression I got from my one visit there. It was a good enough reason for them not to attend soccer games.

My main point was obviously missed. It wasn't really about Dean Howes, but that anyone staying away from RSL games because of this would probably never have bought many tickets anyway. The people that are actually going to buy tickets, the fans of soccer, are being more negatively affected by everyone complaining about the FO for every little thing that they do. If you are truly worried about attendance, then maybe we should start trying to create some positive press instead of it always being negative with the FO being portrayed as a bunch of screw-ups constantly. I admit that they have made mistakes, some big ones, but I do believe that for the most part they all care about RSL very deeply and are trying to do their best. Maybe they should be given the benefit of the doubt once in a while instead of always being roasted for every little thing. In fact, maybe we could actually praise them for the numerous good things that they do that always seem to be ignored in favor of the bad things they do.

I am not going to close the thread but I am going to move it to the off-topic threads...

I fail to see a connection to the RSL FO other than the fact that Dave Checketts owns both...

What truely is sad is when we get those discount tickets for the MLS Fan club matches, most of my tix were purchased by utefans.

I had two new season ticket holders ready for next year who now have informed me they can no longer go to RSL matches (their loyalty is for Utah Athletics, which does not make them petty). They came to the 'rapids match with me and really enjoyed themselves but their loyalty is #1 Utah Utes.

Deuce, I like this comparison better because of the unintentional comedy behind it, so I'll leave it out there.

My goal is to get more season ticket holders for the RCB. Where do I find more? Yes there is the soccer fan who goes to the matches and then wants to join us after sitting with us.

A lot have come from me going to other fans' message boards. Their loyalty is not RSL.

That's what I'm trying to help out with... inviting them to matches etc...

Their loyalty isn't RSL... yet. Now it will be difficult getting them to matches.

That is unfortunate, really. But it's more pathetic than anything.

I've decided that I will no longer purchase apples or honey at any grocery stores because of Applebees' recent decision to promote their new "quesadilla burger" which is an obvious attempt to make a political statement about Mexicans crossing the border and integrating themselves into the American landscape. That'll show....someone.

OK no worries... but don't cry in future if you edit your posts and find that what you no longer wanted to say suddenly pops up...

LOL
