Beating the Dead Horse (to death) via "Optimist Day"! I hereby declare Wednesday, August 30th to be Worldwide RSL Fan Optimist Day.
All "fans" who think that anything could be improved with the team or the organization need not post on RSL.org tomorrow. Anyone who believes that past results are any indicator of future potential -- stay away. If you think that coaching, strategy, talent, or effort have any bearing on the ouctome of a soccer match, please post elsewhere. If your motto isn't "We're going to win, simply because I say so!", then you're obviously not a fan. Don't waste your time here. Are you the type who is discouraged by 33 measly losses over 55 games? And you call yourself a fan?? Don't you remember the four-game winning streak? Is there a full-sized shrine of Mr. Checketts in your living room? Do you find yourself nodding in agreement to Spence Checketts' comments in post-game shows? Do you truly believe that "the ball just didn't bounce our way" for an entire season? I surely hope so. Does reality sometimes make an attempt to force entry into the dreamland in your head? Beware to he who thinketh for himself. Yes, tomorrow will be a glorious day of nothing but positive, uplifting posts. I know you're up to it.

Forget the Dave Checketts shrine... I'm putting a life-size cardboard cutout of Bordy next to my bed.

Actually, have you ever met bordy? You might reconsider if you had. Bordy, that was awesome beyond words.

It's a good thing we finally have an "Optimists Day" seeing as how all the rest have practically been declared "Pessimists Day's".

So... on optimist day... and all this talk of life size cut-outs...
Do I have to put my life size Matt Benhke cut-out in the closet for the day? I suppose it would be a good day to trade up to a Dante Washington life size cut-out...
