Or there are more RSL fans than we realize. If you go to the MLS main page (http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/), you will notice a poll about who people think is going to win the West. We are currently in second place behind LA. Not too bad for an expansion team.

Another interesting tidbit is that the CRapids are in last place. Hahahaha! It doesn't seem we are the only ones that think they suck.

Either way the expansion teams fair pretty well in that poll.

New year, same CRapids.

How else could they be rated?

--Overall record of 113 wins, 34 draws, 127 losses. Playoffs? 6 wins, 3 draws, 12 losses. Four of those playoff wins in 1997. Mediocre would be a compliment.

--No trophies. OK, maybe the consolation trophy for representing the Western Division in the 1997 MLS Cup loss to DC. But they save space at CRapids HQ since they don't need a trophy case.

--Houghton. Myernick. Hankinson. Clavijo. The tradition continues.

Caveat: RSL is 0-0-0.

But do you think the black-n-blues look over the mountains and feel good about themselves right about now? Didn't think so.

There are certainly reasons to be optimistic about this team. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least 1 more big signing - not as big as Kreis/Mathis/Pope, but one that can make a big impact. The bottom line for fans is that this team is easy to like and to be a fan of - that will hopefully bring them out to the matches.
