Real Getting Less-Than-Royal Treatment

"...if RSL can prove its drawing ability in its debut season, local authorities might be persuaded to place a bond issue on a future ballot that would help the team finance a stadium if approved. Still, as fellow councilman Jim Bradley put it, "They've got a tough sell."

"Clearly, the best thing Utah's soccer supporters can do is show up in numbers at Rice-Eccles Stadium and drag as many people with them as they can. They might not be able to outvote the Curtis Brambles in the state legislature."

Well let's try to get as many people out as we can then... and having a great supporters section will be key. So everyone get to work on flags and banners!

I'm sure that eventually we will have our stadium. I think that the most important factor will be for the team to do well though. People in Utah are much more apt to support a winner than they are a loser. I think the FO has done a good job of putting together a team that will do well thankfully.

I never thought I'd say this... but there was actually a good editorial in BYU's "Daily Universe" today. I usually refer to it as the "Unifarce" but this article was about RSL. The author saw great things in store for RSL and said that RSL may eventually be bigger than the Jazz. It was very positive about the team.

You mean there was something worth reading in that paper besides the always comical "Police Beat"?

My favorite Police Beat moment: "Officers found peanut butter smeared on the door to the honor code office."

another good one: "A student contacted police when a roommate put mustard and soap in her food."

honorable mention: "An officer found one of the gates to the stadium open. He closed it."
