How incredibly spoiled we've become to expect TV broadcast of all sporting events. It started for me in the mid 70s when I lived in Atlanta and Turner bought WTBS to broadcast Atlanta Braves games. WGN in Chicago was doing the same with Cubs games. Both quickly began to market to the rapidly expanding cable television market (Cable television having started in the late 1940s). Before long, for both the Braves and Cubs, they were being broadcast to nearly every CATV home in the country. I could watch every Braves game, and go to games whenever I wanted. My Dad could watch Braves games in Louisiana! In Salt Lake, similar things were happening with the Jazz. It has become the model for all professional teams to at least have local broadcasting of even home games. Turns out, there was more money to be made from television than from ticket sales, even at the expense of lost ticket sales. Colleges followed. Major schools began to adjust their schedules to accommodate conference television packages for Football and sometimes Basketball. Nearly every major game was broadcast. Blackout rules relaxed over time. Now We Expect Every Darned Game to Be Watchable From Our Lazy Butted Easy Chair! When I was a kid, we had to carry the television uphill both ways through waist deep snow to and from the stadium in order to watch the game!!! What a bunch of wimps we've become, what a bunch of whimps these darned kids have become!!! :lamo:

When my mother was pregnant with me they did an ultrasound and found she was having twins. When they did another ultrasound a few weeks later they discovered that I had reabsorbed the other fetus. Do I regret this? No. I believe his tissue has made me stronger. I now have the strength of a grown man and a little baby.
