I know they won't let me go into the stadium with a bottle of water. I've had to throw them away before, so why should I assume that they will allow my (very little) drum into the stadium.

If it's not true, it seems extremely stupid to write it down.
Well, Dysko is being allowed in early, so maybe he can sneak all of our equipment into the stadium. I would be really surprised if after all that we have been told that they wouldn't allow us to have drums and flags. And if I remember correctly, they even told us that they had a special area set aside just for us to tailgate on. I guess we can bring all of this stuff up at the meeting tomorrow. Hopefully it isn't as dire as it sounds.

It may interest you all to know that stadiums in other states with more restrictive policies than RES are modifying policies to accomodate soccer fans.

This is a good sign that the atmosphere at worldwide soccer events is recognised and acknowledged.

example for the WCQ in Hartford Connecticut
Quote:

USA vs. Trinidad & Tobago
Wednesday, August 17
8:00pm

New rules have been instituted for this event ONLY.
For this event, flags, banners, and signs will be allowed into the stadium. Noisemakers such as bells, drums and plastic trumpets will also be allowed, while air horns remain prohibited.
this is the website for the stadium http://www.rentschlerfield.com
It is interesting to note that they are doing the same for another "World" sport as well... the same exceptions apply for the USA Rugby friendly as well.

It is interesting to see that fans of "American" sports are prohibited from doing this while fans of "World" sports are accomodated.

I believe that soccer fans at RES will also be afforded less restrictive or un-enforced rules in the name of atmosphere!

Your thoughts..?

People will be onhand to take in drums and banners and other things before the match. In fact I think it is Dysko and Loyal1 that will be doing this but I could be wrong! I know it will be someone tho.
There has been much talk of this before (I can't remember exactly where) I know that we will have our drums and banners, flags and poles in the Loyalist section.

I believe they require us to bring them early so they will not be carried thru the gate with all the other fans tho.

Well, I e-mailed our fearless leaders and will let them handle it. If I call the F/O they're going to get a definite "bad vibe" and I wouldn't want to spoil our relationship with them, assuming it is still intact.

So I'll wait 'til I hear from the leadership.

No! Say it ain't so! A flag without a pole is like a car without an engine!

A flag without a pole is just some flaggish material.

It can't apply to us, it has to apply to the general population.

It better not, I just spent $19.00 today on pvc pipe, fittings, rings and electrical ties. Tomorrow the pole will be completed and the biggest damn flag in the stadium will be born.

And still no comment from the F/O or from Loyal1.

If it wasn't true, I would have expected an immediate denial or explanation. If it is true, I could see why they might drag their feet on it. Since they are obviously dragging their feet...

I'm getting worried again. The silence is deafening.

So was this discussion talked about at Iggy's? If it was please let the rest of us know what the policy will be for drums, flags w/poles, etc.

Thankyou.

Curious minds want to know. 🙄

BTW, I got my mini plan tickets and look forward to Sat.!

See ya all there!
