The Jazz could certainly use a shot blocker on the floor.
What????? Are you serious!?!?!?!?! Where did you hear this info?

1280 is reporting it based on a report in the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

I'm sure Jerry is just jumping for joy.

Well, Raul wasn't coming back, I've never liked Borchardt, and Snyder sucks. Although he's probably the one with the most potential. We still need a shooter.

I guess it kind of makes sense on paper, but...don't the Jazz remember how badly we wanted to get rid of him in the first place? I guess a one-year, $4mil contract will make him a little more palatable, but still.

Wow.

Actually, it wasn't so much that the Jazz wanted to get rid of him, they just wanted to pay him less than he could get on the free agent market. Ostertag is one of the two things the Jazz were missing last year.

This opens up a roster spot to go after a shooter.

I love this deal. I know people will be skeptical because it can be frustrating at times to have Ostertag on your team, but I think this is a great move.

1. Snyder has developed a bad attitude (gestures at Houston bench, fight on the loading dock) and that is something we don't need, nor will Jerry tolerate.

B. I always really liked Lopez, but he isn't coming back to the NBA anyway.

52. I am atounded, nay, horrified that Borchardt is still in the league. The Jazz would have been better off putting 4 guys out on the court rather than putting Borchardt into the game. Some guys you can complain don't help their team very much. Borchardt actively hurt the Jazz whenever he was playing.

Last - Ostertag has long been compared to the dominant big men in the league, and unfairly in my opinion. He is not Shaq and never will be, but he does alright. He may not block tons of shots per game, but he gets a few... and he changes a lot of shots.

Great move Jazz! 🕺
