It was a nice little ceremony. I didn't take any notes like I should have, so this report will be a little sparse.

Jason and Clint were there along with Coach Ellinger, Dean Howes, and Steve Pastorino.

Mayor Rocky Anderson read a statement declaring this week Real Week. He also talked about how this soccer team was going to be a unifying force in the state bringing people of all different cultures together. He talked about how high youth participation is here.

Coach Ellinger then gave a few comments. He said that the fans and media have been great. He commented that it was unprecedented the amount of support that they were getting and how surprised and happy he was. He mentioned the team "had a little hitch in their giddy-up" this past weekend, but would be ready to go Saturday.

Steve then got up and talked a little bit about how well ticket sales were going. He said that they had sold over 4000 season tickets so far and that they expected a crowd well over 20,000 for the game. He mentioned the Rocky Mountain Cup and talked about our rivalry with the CRapids. He also mentioned the Loyalists and Deuce and I let out a good cheer. He also read a statement from the governor where he also declared it Real Week.

Overall, it was pretty good. There were about 20 people there. There were film crews from all the stations there so watch the news tonight. They took some crowd shots so Deuce and I may be on TV. (Or maybe Deuce won't be because he kept ducking out of the shot because he was supposed to be at work. :D)

Mission accomplished... Aero and I made some noise... probably enough for 5 people!
Aero gave a better report than I would have... so thanks Aero.

Steve Pastorino really talked up the rivalry and the Rocky Mountain Cup... waaaaay cool!

(Thanks for that Aero I guess I should have stayed in camera since you told everyone anyway 😉 :D )

--Edit--

In a conversation with Jason Kreis and Clint Mathis after the press conference, Jason challenged us (the Loyalists) to make alot of noise and give the cRapids players a hard time... and Clint added "Just like they did to me on Saturday!"

Ladies and Gentlemen, we've been given the orders. Let's make Clint and Kreisy happy!

It's an even bigger challenge when you realize that we'll be tormenting and ridiculing what essentially amounts to the "nerdy runts" of the league. I mean, part of me feels bad for the cRapids. Have you seen their team? I just don't know that I'd feel good making fun of them or giving them a hard time.

This is something I thought we could do a while back when they had the naming party. I don't know if any of you guys got Autographed pictures of Joe Cannon and Jean-phillipe Peguero, but if could find a way to get their attention long enough to rip them up in their faces, that would be cool. Too bad we can't burn them.
