As a non-Utahn (although I did have a great phone interview tonight for a position in SLC); I will have to defer to a native Utahn resident. I'll help from behind the scenes if thats ok (you guys realize that once I get out there, you all have to invite me over for a casserole dinner, right?).

Wow, expensive. We better start saving our pennies now.

Doesn't have to be super expensive, here is a low cost estimate:

Here is a link to the BS thread:

http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151035

Note that some of the suggestions include making a plack or other object for the "trophy". One suggestion was of an Ice Pick attached to a plack, as in this example:

That type of thing could work, and not be as expensive. Possibly more important, it would be unique. It doesn't have to be and axe, or an ice pick. I mentioned a crown. (if we call it the King of the Mountains, then the crown fits).

Are they talking "basic instinct ice pick" or "Yukon Cornelius Ice Pick"

😎

Maybe that's why I prefer the crown. It could be part of a crown, or it could be a picture or painting of a crown.

Man are there any cheaper cups out there? I just like the cup so much more than plaques or little plastic soccer guys. When we are dancing around on the Crapids field holding up our prized loot, it should be a nice prize, and a big cup seems perfect to me.

I'd kind of like to stick with the "Cup" idea and have some type of trophy rather than a plaque. Maybe we could do some kind of fund raising to get the money for the cup, but a plaque just seems cheap. A cup looks Real nice in a trophy case as well.

How about these:

They don't seem very big... how big do we need?

Looking at it, the Ageless Gold Cup or the Silver Plated Bowl, in the largest size, wouldn't be bad and the price would be do-able. It would take both supporters groups and it would be a stretch at that. Of these I like the Gold Cup, personally. 🙂

Of course the best ones are the last three: Fire & Ice, Crystal Cup, and Wine Cooler. Even those prices might be do-able, if we were to do some fund raiser activities, and remembering that we expect the Rapids supporters to pitch in half. Of these, my favorite is the Fire & Ice, but any of these would be fabulous! 😎

If we're going this route, we better find out how much we can count on from that quarter.😕
