Bring streamers to Galaxy game

Attention all Loyalists.

There has been some talk about how cool it would have been had we had some streamers to throw after the goals were scored against San Jose.

Lets make it official, lets take the Blood Gutter to another level and bring streamers to the May 14th Galaxy game. If we keep them in the stands and off of the field I can't see where we will have any problems with security.

Red, Blue and Gold crate paper and/or ribbon will look great.

I would say bring a few rolls each. We could launch them as the game starts, after we score, and towards the end of the game.

Your thoughts.

The folks in your example don't look to be doing a very good job of keeping them in the stands.

How do we keep them off the field? We sit five feet from the rail.

I say the guys at the top throw down, the guys at the bottom throw towards the top.

If your in the middle throw across.

Don't the Cheetos and Galaxy fans get away with throwing streamers onto the pitch? I know I have seen players running around during matches in green and yellow stuff. streamers and confetti!

I like confetti too! I think I might scare up some confetti to help accent the streamers....

Yeah, but the Goats and Space Boys have control to say what goes on the their stadium, seeing as they own it. Renters don't get as many privileges as those who own.

That's my take on it anyways.

Someone start "Operation: Streamers" and buy out all the streamers in the valley.

As long as we don't actually hit any players, I really don't see it being a problem. Players around the world play the game on streamers.

I guess if the whole section throws the streamers at once the stadium security can't really eject us all from the building.

If it were just one of us, I wouldn't be surprised if they did eject whoever did it. It's like the fifteen years ago, when the Tampa Bay Lightning first started playing hockey, one of their players scored three goals in a game, and when a fan threw his hat on the ice, they tried to eject the guy. I think the stadium staff would act similarly, because soccer is new here. But there's safety in numbers.

Call me a wuss, but my opinion is that we tread lightly on this one. I think there are other, just as effective, and less controversial ways to make an impact.

My two cents. I'm still not even sure I'll be at that game anyways...

There is an official statement from our Loyal president in this week's Loyalists newsletter. Ethan will be sending that out today, I assume. I emailed it to him yesterday.

Bottom line: DO NOT THROW ANYTHING ONTO THE FIELD. EVER. AT ALL. DON'T DO IT. DON'T RUIN EVERYONE ELSE'S EXPERIENCE.

That's not to say streamers can't be kept in the stands, but it's a risk.
